There is a new Director of the Customs Department.

On January 25th, the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department held a ceremony to announce the General Department of Customs' decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Le Van Thung, Deputy Director of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Customs Department, to the position of Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department, effective from January 26th, 2024.

Event - Dong Nai: New Director of Customs Department appointed.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh delivered a congratulatory speech to the new Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department, Le Van Thung.

Attending the ceremony to announce the decision were Central Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh; Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Can, along with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, and leaders and staff of the Dong Nai Customs Department and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Customs Department.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Can requested that the new Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department continue to promote the spirit of unity, strictly adhere to regulations in state management of the customs field, closely follow the policies and orientations for attracting investment and developing the province's economy in his new position to contribute to facilitating trade activities and attracting investment to Dong Nai.

Strengthening efforts to combat smuggling and trade fraud without affecting investment attraction or local trade and commerce activities. Working with the General Department of Customs to implement digital transformation in the customs sector. Striving to ensure that by 2028, Vietnam's Customs will be standardized and modern, on par with other countries worldwide .

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh congratulated the new Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department and expressed his hope that in his new position, the new Director would contribute to promoting the economic development of Dong Nai.

Leaders of Dong Nai province presented flowers and took commemorative photos with the leadership of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department.

The Provincial Party Secretary stated that the appointment of the new Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department will contribute to strengthening human resources and enhancing leadership for the Dong Nai Customs sector in the coming period.

The Provincial Party Secretary remarked that the new Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Customs Department has a long career, extensive experience in managing customs-related activities, and will excellently fulfill the assigned tasks.

Dong Nai is a locality with a vibrant and rapidly developing economy, which also presents many complex issues related to economic crime. Therefore, building a team of customs officers with sufficient qualities and capabilities to control and promote economic development is crucial. The provincial leadership always trusts and expects the qualities and capabilities of the customs officers in coordinating economic control in the province.

The new Director of the Dong Nai Customs Department, Le Van Thung, was born in 1968 and has 37 years of experience in the Customs sector. Mr. Thung served as Deputy Director of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Customs Department for 12 years before being appointed Director of the Dong Nai Customs Department.
