The final match took place in Bilbao, causing difficulties for MU and Chelsea fans in traveling.

The 2024/25 Europa League final is a civil war between two English clubs. MU easily overcame Athletic Bilbao with a score of 7-1 on aggregate, winning 3-0 in the first leg and 4-1 at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Tottenham defeated Bodo/Glimt 2-0 in the second leg, thereby advancing with a score of 5-1 on aggregate.

The final will be played at San Mames in Bilbao, which has a maximum capacity of 53,289. With both clubs demanding much more tickets, there have been calls to move the venue. However, UEFA has given San Mames the right to host the match from 2021, so a change of venue is out of the question.

UEFA has decided that the final will still take place in the Basque city. In the past 15 years, there have been seven finals between teams from the same European country, and none of them have had to be moved.

Travel has become a concern for Tottenham and Manchester United fans. Currently, according to SkyScanner , the cheapest flight from London to Bilbao on May 21 costs up to £355 for a one-way ticket.

If you want to fly back the next day, the cheapest ticket from Bilbao to London costs £175, departing at 7.40am and requiring a stopover in the Canary Islands. A direct flight in the afternoon will set you back more than £500, with very few seats left.
