On the day Dad came home to my mother and us three siblings, as soon as I heard the familiar sound of his motorbike from the end of the alley, I would rush out to open the door. I did this because I didn't want Dad to wait, or perhaps because I couldn't wait another second to be embraced by him. Dad often jokingly said that I could "guess the program from the theme music" very accurately. It's not some special talent, but I think any child who loves their parents can do that.

Because of the constant longing, every time my father came home, I was happier than ever. That longing made me even more eager to look forward to the weekends—when the whole family could gather around a warm meal prepared by my mother's own hands. That meal was not just about eating; it filled the voids in the hearts of each family member, erasing the distance and the long days of waiting.
Missing my father made me love my mother even more. I felt sorry for her working tirelessly day and night to take care of the family in the absence of the family's breadwinner. Therefore, from a young age, I told myself that I had to be well-behaved and study hard to put my mother's mind at ease and to allow my father to focus on his work.
Those years instilled in me a special feeling—admiration and pride in my father serving in the Army. The image of my father in his uniform nurtured in me the dream of joining the ranks of the Vietnam People's Army, of studying, training, and contributing to the Fatherland.
Until one day I proudly told my father, "Your daughter is a soldier!" When I joined the unit as a female soldier, I always told myself that I must live up to the trust and expectations of my parents and the family tradition. The green of the military uniform is not only a source of pride for me, but also a symbol of dedication and commitment. Therefore, I always strive and work hard every day, actively training and improving myself, living a disciplined and honest life, striving to complete all assigned tasks well, and constantly learning to improve and mature in the military environment.
