After more than four years, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism businesses have decided to relaunch the city exploration program from above, targeting the high-end customer segment.
After a temporary suspension, helicopter tours offering panoramic views of Ho Chi Minh City from above officially resumed on March 11th at Vung Tau Airport (Tam Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and welcomed their first passengers.
Starting at 2.9 million VND per person, guests can enjoy a 15-minute scenic flight on the Vung Tau Skyview Tour, offering many exciting experiences.
According to travel agencies, regular flights are scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Flights offer four itinerary options ranging from 15 minutes to 60 minutes, depending on passenger needs. These include the Vung Tau Skyview tour (15 minutes) offering panoramic views of Vung Tau city; Green Horizon (30 minutes) connecting Vung Tau with the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve; Green Coastline (40 minutes) flying along the Long Hai - Ho Tram coastal route; and Skyline Discovery (60 minutes) experiencing a journey from Vung Tau beach to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, combined with exploring the green spaces of Can Gio.
Each journey tells its own "story," connecting the sea, the forest, and the city. Travelers can choose from routes such as: panoramic views of Vung Tau city, connections to the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve, or journeys from the coast to the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, the tour product "Viewing Ho Chi Minh City from above by helicopter" was introduced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in coordination with travel businesses on the occasion of April 30, 2022. At that time, the tour received great interest from the market.
Over 300 customers quickly booked tickets in advance despite the relatively high tour price. However, the trip soon encountered obstacles and had to be temporarily suspended from October 2022, due to the lack of a suitable and official helicopter landing pad in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that in recent times, the tourism industry and businesses have made efforts to resolve obstacles to bring the product into stable operation. After the merger, strengthening regional linkages between Ho Chi Minh City and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau area is creating many favorable conditions for the project to be restarted.
According to the development plan, in addition to the existing helipad at Vung Tau airport, the city will call for investment in more satellite helipads in various other areas. These landing points will connect with waterway tourism routes and prominent tourist attractions, thereby creating new experiential itineraries for visitors.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Man, Deputy General Director of VinaGroup, expects helicopter tours to become a new highlight of Ho Chi Minh City tourism in the near future, forming a high-end tour line serving domestic and international tourists.
The "View Ho Chi Minh City from Above" flight service is a product of the Southern Helicopter Company (VNHS). VinaGroup is the company responsible for receiving customers and arranging flight schedules to ensure that the service provider's requirements are met.
In addition, the product is widely distributed through a system of travel agencies and tour operators in the city, such as Benthanh Tourist, World Trans, SASCO, Vietluxtour, Vietnam Tourism Media Company, Vian Travel, Adventure Tour, etc.

The flight is served by EC-155B1 helicopter, or alternative helicopters including: Super Puma L2; Leonardo Helicopter AW189, Airbus EC-225 helicopter. There are two experience packages: a VIP package with 8 seats (minimum 8 seats required) and a 12-seat experience package (minimum 10 seats required).

Sightseeing helicopter tours are no longer a distant dream for many people.

With flight prices starting from 2.9 million VND/person for the 15-minute scenic flight - Vung Tau Skyview Tour, travelers can also choose longer flights with corresponding prices depending on flight time and seat location.

Beautiful views of Ho Chi Minh City from above.

Each flight route is a slice of historical and natural landscape, which can only be fully appreciated from the height of the sky with the traveler's own eyes, rather than just viewing it through a drone.

From above, visitors can get a sense of the vibrant and bustling Ho Chi Minh City.
