In early June 2026, the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, in coordination with the Di An Ward Police, deployed several task forces to investigate and inspect two production and business locations of Thang Dat Company, seizing nearly 10,000 pairs of counterfeit CROCS sandals (worth nearly 500 million VND) and a large quantity of tools and equipment used in the production of counterfeit sandals.
The investigation determined that from January 2024 to the present, the counterfeit sandal production ring, led by Mr. Thang, was managed by Vinh, who oversaw all production activities along with 12 workers responsible for various stages to create a complete pair of sandals.
The suspects introduced a particularly large quantity of counterfeit CROCS sandals to the market, earning tens of billions of VND in profits.
The discovery and dismantling of this criminal ring further demonstrates the determination and decisiveness of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, who have strictly followed the directives of the Prime Minister, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security , and the City Party Committee and People's Committee in the fight against and handling of crime in general, and crimes infringing on intellectual property and industrial property in particular.
This aims to protect the legitimate rights and interests of genuine manufacturing and business enterprises as well as consumers.
