This is a significant milestone, affirming the quality, prestige, and unique identity of Lam Dong coffee; at the same time, it opens up opportunities for brand development, increasing added value, and promoting a sustainable production-processing-consumption chain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huy Anh, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office, emphasized: "Granting geographical indication protection not only enhances the prestige and competitiveness of Lam Dong coffee, but also opens up opportunities to build a sustainable value chain, contributing to affirming the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international market."

Currently, coffee is the main crop of Lam Dong province with an area of 327,000 hectares (accounting for 45.02% of the country's coffee area), and an estimated production of over 1 million tons in 2025 (accounting for 50.49% of the country's total coffee production).
The entire province has 6 recognized high-tech agricultural coffee production areas covering more than 2,268 hectares, linked with 1,404 households.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, advanced technologies are now being applied in agricultural production, including water-saving irrigation systems, smart fertilization through irrigation systems, integrated pest management (IPHM), etc., helping to optimize resources, reduce input costs, and improve product quality.

Lam Dong province will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies and businesses to effectively promote geographical indications, while building a production, processing, and consumption chain for coffee according to high-quality standards, aiming for sustainable export and increasing value for local coffee growers.

Currently, Lam Dong province has more than 100 protected collective trademarks, certifications, and geographical indications, demonstrating solid progress in the development of intellectual property and local brands.
