This is an important milestone, affirming the quality, reputation and unique identity of Lam Dong coffee; at the same time opening up opportunities for brand development, increasing added value and promoting a sustainable production - processing - consumption chain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huy Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property, emphasized: "Protecting geographical indications not only helps enhance the reputation and competitiveness of Lam Dong coffee, but also opens up opportunities to build a sustainable value chain, contributing to affirming the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international market."

Currently, coffee is the main crop of Lam Dong province with an area of 327,000 hectares (accounting for 45.02% of the country's coffee area), with an estimated output of over 1 million tons in 2025 (accounting for 50.49% of the country's total coffee output).
The whole province has 6 recognized high-tech agricultural coffee production areas with an area of over 2,268 hectares, linked with 1,404 households.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, currently advanced technologies have been applied in agricultural production, including water-saving irrigation systems, smart fertilization through irrigation systems, integrated pest management (IPHM)... to help optimize resources, reduce input costs and improve product quality.

Lam Dong will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies and businesses to promote the effectiveness of geographical indications, while building a chain of coffee production, processing and consumption according to high quality standards, aiming for sustainable export and increasing value for local coffee growers.

Currently, Lam Dong province has more than 100 collective trademarks, certifications and protected geographical indications, demonstrating steady progress in developing intellectual property and local brands.
