Announcing the geographical indication "Lam Dong" for coffee products.

On the morning of October 15th, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the Geographical Indication Certificate for "Lam Dong" to two coffee varieties, Arabica and Robusta, including green coffee beans, roasted coffee beans, and ground coffee.

This is a significant milestone, affirming the quality, prestige, and unique identity of Lam Dong coffee; at the same time, it opens up opportunities for brand development, increasing added value, and promoting a sustainable production-processing-consumption chain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huy Anh, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office, emphasized: "Granting geographical indication protection not only enhances the prestige and competitiveness of Lam Dong coffee, but also opens up opportunities to build a sustainable value chain, contributing to affirming the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international market."

Mr. Le Huy Anh, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Science and Technology, delivered a congratulatory speech and outlined development directions after Lam Dong coffee was granted geographical indication status.

Currently, coffee is the main crop of Lam Dong province with an area of 327,000 hectares (accounting for 45.02% of the country's coffee area), and an estimated production of over 1 million tons in 2025 (accounting for 50.49% of the country's total coffee production).

The entire province has 6 recognized high-tech agricultural coffee production areas covering more than 2,268 hectares, linked with 1,404 households.
