The People's Committee of Dak Lak province has stipulated that for the 2025-2026 school year, public high schools in the province will admit students to grade 10 through entrance exams; it also stipulates that some schools will develop their own admission plans; and specifies the categories of students eligible for direct admission...

On February 11th, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province announced the issuance of a plan for the enrollment of 10th grade students in high schools for the 2025-2026 school year in the province. Accordingly, enrollment into 10th grade at public high schools will be conducted through an entrance examination. The entrance examination for 10th grade in Dak Lak is expected to take place on June 5th and 6th, 2025.

The third subject in the exam is a foreign language.

According to Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, the content of this year's entrance exam for 10th grade high school is based on the general education program at the junior high school level, mainly focusing on grade 9, following the exam structure issued by the Department of Education and Training. The common subjects for all candidates are: Mathematics, Literature, and a third subject: a foreign language (English or French). For students applying to Nguyen Du Specialized High School, in addition to the common subjects, they must also take one specialized subject from the following: Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, History, Geography, English, or French.

For private secondary schools, ethnic boarding schools, Cao Nguyen Practical High School, and sports training and competition centers: Develop separate admission plans based on the provincial People's Committee's admission plan and submit them to the Department of Education and Training for approval.

Regarding the enrollment area, Nguyen Du Specialized High School recruits students who reside in or have graduated from junior high school throughout the entire province.

Students participating in the entrance exam for 10th grade at a high school in Buon Ma Thuot for the 2023-2024 school year.

N'Trang Lơng Ethnic Boarding High School (Buon Ma Thuot City) admits students residing in the following districts: Buon Don, Cu Kuin, Krong Ana, Krong Bong, Krong Pak, Lak, Ea Sup, and Buon Ma Thuot City.

Dam San Ethnic Boarding High School (Buon Ho Town) admits students residing in the following districts: Cu M'gar, Ea H'leo, Krong Buk, Krong Nang, M'Drak, Ea Kar, and Buon Ho Town.

Public high schools in the districts of Krông Pắk, Krông Năng, Krông Ana, Cư M'gar, Ea H'leo, Ea Kar, Buôn Hồ town, and Buôn Ma Thuột city enroll students residing in or who have graduated from junior high school within the district or according to the zoning plan of the district People's Committee.

Public high schools in the districts of Krông Bông, Lắk, M'Đrắk, Buôn Đôn, Cư Kuin, Ea Súp, and Krông Búk are only allowed to enroll students who reside in or have graduated from junior high school within the district's catchment area, as determined by the district-level People's Committee.

Students wishing to attend a school located in the border area between two districts must have the approval of the People's Committees of both districts.

Admission quotas and direct admission criteria for grade 10.

Regarding enrollment quotas, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province instructed public high schools to implement enrollment according to the quotas set by the Department of Education and Training. The N'Trang Lơng Ethnic Boarding High School and the Dam San Ethnic Boarding High School are allowed to enroll 65% of students from local ethnic minorities (Ede, Mnong, Gia Rai) and 35% from other ethnic groups (of which, no more than 10% of the total annual enrollment quota should be Kinh ethnic students).

The People's Committee of Dak Lak province also stipulates that students eligible for direct admission to public high schools according to the district-level zoning plan include: students from ethnic minority boarding schools in the district, town, or city who have graduated from junior high school; students from very small ethnic minority groups; students with disabilities; junior high school students who have won national-level awards organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with other ministries and agencies on a nationwide scale… Students eligible for direct admission can register to take the entrance exam; if they are not admitted, they will be considered for direct admission to the school within their designated enrollment area.
