The urgent project to prevent coastal erosion along the section passing through Xuan Hoi commune (Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province ) is being intensively constructed by the contractor, bringing joy to the local people.
Mr. Phan Van Bao, residing in Tan Ninh Chau village, Xuan Hoi commune, expressed his joy that the coastal erosion prevention project is underway.
After years of living in insecurity and anxiety due to severe coastal erosion, the people of Tan Ninh Chau village were overjoyed when the coastal erosion control project in Xuan Hoi commune began construction. The project, spanning 1.4 km and costing nearly 15 billion VND from the district budget, commenced on September 14th and continues to this day.
Mr. Phan Van Bao, from Tan Ninh Chau village, said: “Previously, this area was eroded by sea waves, with the sea encroaching dozens of meters inland, wiping out large areas of protective forest, and threatening the sea dike, gardens, and residential land of the households. The construction of this project is very practical in helping people live and develop their economy with peace of mind.”
Local authorities always create favorable conditions for the construction unit to ensure the project is completed on schedule and to the required quality standards.
Mr. Bao's joy is also the joy of hundreds of households living along the Xuan Hoi coastline. Besides ensuring the safety of the dike, addressing erosion, and reducing and disrupting sea waves, especially during storms combined with high tides and inland floods directly impacting the coastline, the project also creates and maintains a sandbar along the dike corridor, protecting the Hoi Thong dike and the residential area and infrastructure.
Mr. Trinh Quang Luat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Hoi commune, said: "Since the project started, the local government has actively coordinated with relevant units, creating the most favorable conditions for the contractor to ensure the project is completed on schedule and to the required quality standards."
Workers of Construction Company No. 3 are concentrating on pouring concrete components for wave barriers.
Currently, the weather is quite favorable, and the construction unit, Ha Tinh Construction Company No. 3, is concentrating manpower and machinery to cast 7,700 concrete wave-breaking components and mobilizing vehicles to build roads to transport materials to the coast to serve the construction of 9 sections of submerged wave-reducing dikes.
“During the rainy season, the weather is unpredictable, and construction work is heavily dependent on tides, so we are facing many difficulties. However, the unit has developed a specific plan, working day and night when conditions are favorable, with the criterion that the project must ensure quality,” shared Mr. Nguyen Danh Tuan, the construction project manager.
According to Mr. Tran Nguyen Ngoc, Director of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Nghi Xuan District, this is an urgent project of paramount importance, requiring high technical expertise. Therefore, the Management Board has closely monitored every critical step of the project's progress, directing technical staff to regularly inspect and supervise it strictly; urging the contractor to mobilize all resources and materials for construction, striving to complete the project and put it into use by the end of 2023.
