According to the company, recently, many households in the province have reported unexpectedly receiving calls from individuals impersonating Dowaco employees, requesting them to re-sign water supply contracts due to mergers, or to benefit from lower rates, or to complete additional procedures for using tap water, and sending fake links to customer service websites/applications to install malware to steal personal information and money from bank accounts...
Dowaco affirms that, at present, the company is not implementing any contract renewal programs, is not requiring customers to provide OTP codes, is not sending suspicious links, and is not collecting any additional fees beyond the officially announced monthly water bill.
Any calls or messages requesting personal information, bank account details, or instructions for transferring money are fraudulent. The company states that it does not collect payments at home or through personal accounts.
When it is necessary to notify customers, Dowaco only uses the designated "DOWACO" number with standard message syntax such as: "DOWACO notification", "DOWACO notification", "DOWACO notification to customer".
