In the final match of Group K, played in Atlanta, the Republic of Congo entered the game determined to secure a favorable result to keep their hopes of advancing alive. However, Uzbekistan was the better team from the start, opening the scoring in the 10th minute with a skillful finish from Eldor Shomurodov.

With nothing left to lose, the African representatives continuously increased the pressure in the second half. The turning point came in the 68th minute when Yoane Wissa won a penalty and successfully converted it herself, leveling the score at 1-1.

Just 10 minutes later, the substitutes made the difference. Meschack Elia assisted Fiston Mayele's goal, putting the Republic of Congo 2-1 up.
