A shock for BigDaddy and Karik

Việt NamViệt Nam11/12/2024

Up until the final battle in Rap Viet, BigDaddy and Karik unexpectedly lost two strong contestants, thus narrowing their chances of competing for the championship.

In In the Rap Viet Season 4 finale, BigDaddy's team only had one contestant left: 7dnight. Dangrangto – BigDaddy's strongest player – unexpectedly withdrew due to health issues. Similarly, Karik suddenly lost Queen B, a contestant he rescued in the breakthrough round and who possessed a unique style.

BigDaddy BigDaddy and Karik are two coaches who have previously led their contestants to victory in Rap Viet. This season, BigDaddy and Karik's chances of competing are considered lower than those of other coaches. The absence of Dangrangto and Queen B further complicates matters for the two coaches and will undoubtedly leave some regrets as Rap Viet Season 4 concludes.

Dangrangto carries high expectations from BigDaddy.

BigDaddy's shock

Before the finale aired, viewers speculated about Dangrangto's absence, as the contestant disappeared from the game show's promotional activities for the final leg. It's true that Dangrangto did withdraw from the competition, although he cited health reasons, but this still sparked debate among viewers because everything happened so suddenly.

This is a cruel ending for BigDaddy because, in the most crucial battle, he lost his number one asset. From the beginning of Rap Viet Season 4, Dangrangto maintained a consistent performance, convincing everyone with his professional flair and versatility in each performance. In particular, he was the rapper who created the strongest impact, so compared to 7dnight, Dangrangto was truly BigDaddy's "warhorse."

Dangrangto's sudden withdrawal from the competition created a series of repercussions for his coach. According to the rules of this game show, Dangrangto and 7dnight were supposed to team up with BigDaddy for a performance in the second final round. Dangrangto's departure meant everything was left unfinished for BigDaddy, and the coach had to reconsider his plans, leaving only 7dnight as his coach.

In the first final, 7dnight's performance wasn't terrible. However, the majority of viewers felt that 7dnight had reached a dead end, meaning he had nothing left to show for the final. The rapper's element of surprise was limited. His performance also lacked impressive lyrics and flow. While the dance sequence at the final drop was interesting, it wouldn't help him stand out.

After the conquest round, BigDaddy's team was considered the most formidable and unpredictable. The male coach had 7dnight (first choice), Dangrangto (gold hat), and Coldzy, all famous rappers, with high expectations for the show. BigDaddy also had Left Hand, a rising star in Vietnamese Rap, along with other phenomena like $A Lil Van and Quan Lee.

As the finals approached, BigDaddy's hopefuls were eliminated in different ways.

Karik unfortunately lost Queen B.

What's left of Karik's once formidable army?

In the conquest round, the arrogance was directed towards BigDaddy. In the next round, Karik was praised for having 7 out of 8 contestants advance. Karik's contestants progressed to round 3 with overwhelming dominance. However, after the breakthrough battle, Karik was left with Manbo, Danmy, and Queen B (saved from Suboi's team).

Karik's lineup in Rap Viet seasons one and two was a "dream team". By season three, with Mason Nguyen gone, Karik's fighting spirit in the finals diminished. He had Manbo, a rapper who held the first choice position but lost ground as the competition progressed. Danmy was a newbie with limited experience.

Among Karik's three contestants, Queen B is the most highly anticipated. Of the three female rappers in the finals – Queen B, Saabirose, and Danmy – Queen B is considered to have the best skills and is expected to keep her "signature moves" for the two final battles. Queen B is already quite well-known in the industry, and therefore has the potential to compete for votes if she delivers another impressive performance in the finals.

Losing Queen B means Karik has missed an opportunity. His plans for a collaboration with Queen B and Danmy in the second final will be disrupted.

Theoretically, Karik had two contestants competing in the first final, but Manbo and Danmy's performances showed that Karik's chances were slim. Manbo held himself back with a weak rap, overshadowed by the backing vocalist. Danmy continued to show improvement, but the quality of her performance wasn't enough to elevate her status as a potential rapper to a championship contender.

Up to now, if we were to assess the quality of the entries in the first final round, Robber Robber is surpassing everyone else. Proof of this is the positive reception Robber's performance is receiving on the trending music charts. Audience ratings also favor Robber among the 7 finalists.

One viewer commented: "It's not Gill, but Dangrangto who is Robber's biggest rival. Dangrangto has the versatility and charisma to compete for votes. When Dangrangto dropped out, Robber was practically paved the way to the championship." Vietnamese Rap.

This weekend, Rap Viet season 4 airs its final episode, along with the awards ceremony. Contestants have one more chance to impress by performing with their coaches or judges. However, across three seasons of Rap Viet, the turning point for the champion has always been the first finale. Clearly, Robber holds a significant advantage.
