Napoli endured an emotional evening at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, overcoming Cagliari 9-8 on penalties to reach the quarter-finals. The hero for the Neapolitan club was goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic, who shone both in goal and from the spot.

The penalty shootout lasted 20 rounds. In the seventh round, Napoli had to successfully take the penalty after their opponents had scored. Milinkovic-Savic was unexpectedly given the responsibility, and he unleashed a decisive shot at an estimated speed of 130 km/h, leaving the Cagliari goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

This powerful kick immediately caused a storm on social media. One fan commented: “A terrible shot, no less than a striker”. Another fan commented: “The power of the ball is no joke”. Another fan wrote: “It’s scary that the person who kicked that shot was just a goalkeeper”.

However, Milinkovic-Savic's brilliance did not stop there. In the 10th shot, he flew to successfully block Zito Luvumbo's shot. Immediately after, Alessandro Buongiorno successfully converted the decisive kick to help Napoli enter the quarter-finals.

His composure and good judgment in the penalty shootout made the Italian press unanimously call Milinkovic-Savic "the hero in Naples".

Milinkovic-Savic joined Napoli last summer on a one-year loan from Torino, with a buyout clause of 21 million euros.

Football stadiums in Europe on fire On November 30, the match between IFK Norrkoping and Orgryte IS with a score of 0-0 in round 30 of the Swedish National Championship fell into chaos when the pitch caught fire due to flares thrown from the stands.
