According to an announcement from the Cuban National Electricity Corporation (UNE), Cuba has fully restored its national power grid, ending hours of nationwide power outages.
Accordingly, Cuba's national power grid was fully restored at 6:11 PM (local time). However, Cuban authorities warned that power shortages could continue because electricity generation has not yet met demand.

On the same day, the Antonio Guiteras, the country's largest oil-fired thermal power plant, was brought back into operation, playing a key role in stabilizing the system.
Besides fuel shortages, adverse weather conditions have also exacerbated Cuba's energy crisis, with cold air blanketing much of the territory on Monday afternoon, reducing the efficiency of solar power farms.
The nationwide power outage in Cuba occurred amidst tight fuel supplies due to the US embargo and oil blockade. Furthermore, the US administration has recently increased its threats and pressure on Cuba.
In response, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel criticized the "almost daily public threats" from Washington, accusing the U.S. of seeking to cripple the Cuban economy in order to force concessions.
Shipping data shows that since the beginning of the year, Cuba has only received two small-scale oil tankers importing oil. Cuba and the US are reportedly initiating negotiations to de-escalate tensions. Cuba affirms its readiness for dialogue on an equal footing.
