Dr. Ruvislei González Saez's book chronicles the important milestones in the enduring and loyal relationship between Vietnam and Cuba since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1960.

On October 3rd, in Hanoi, the National Political Publishing House, in collaboration with the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, introduced the book " Cuba - Vietnam: Two Nations, One History" by Dr. Ruvislei González Saez, Vice President of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association and Director of the International Relations Program in Cuba.

This event is part of a series of activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam (1963-2023) and the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's first visit to Vietnam and the liberated areas of South Vietnam (September 1973-September 2023).

A special friendship between the two nations.

Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, affirmed that the translation and publication of the book "Cuba-Vietnam: Two Nations, One History" from the original Spanish to Vietnamese aims to strengthen the traditional friendship between the two Parties and two countries, while also serving the work of foreign information dissemination.

According to Mr. Vu Trong Lam, the book can be considered a chronicle of events, systematically presenting important events in the relations between the two countries, from high-level visits and exchanges of delegations at all levels to bilateral cooperation in many fields.

With its rich collection of photographic materials, the book showcases the strong and close fraternal friendship between the two nations, despite being geographically separated by half the globe, both during wartime and peacetime .

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Guillen also affirmed that the book records the most important events in the Cuba-Vietnam relationship.

Mr. Orlando Nicolás Guilén highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of Dr. Ruvislei González Saez, who has dedicated much time and effort to researching the Vietnam-Cuba relationship, in order to pass on the spirit of that good relationship to the younger generation of both countries.

Notably, although Dr. Ruvislei González Saez was not yet born at the time the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam was established and at the time Leader Fidel Castro visited Vietnam, the book was written with the author's dedication, respect, and special affection for the good relationship between the two countries.

A spiritual gift from the people of the two countries.

For many years, the National Political Publishing House has closely coordinated with relevant ministries and agencies such as the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, the Central Committee's Propaganda Department, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in publishing books that disseminate the foreign policy guidelines, principles, and policies of the Vietnamese Party and State to international friends.

The book Cuba - Vietnam: Two Peoples, One History by Dr. Ruvislei González Saez is a continuation of the results of this close and effective cooperation.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, the book is considered a spiritual gift dedicated to our Cuban brothers and sisters, as well as to the generations of Vietnamese people who have made significant contributions to building, maintaining, and developing this special bilateral relationship of solidarity and friendship.

The publication of this book, along with other publications on Vietnam-Cuba friendship, will contribute to strengthening, further nurturing, and developing the close traditional friendship that has been cherished and diligently built by generations of Party and State leaders and people of both countries.

This opens up prospects for increasingly close and profound cooperation in book publishing and distribution, as well as cultural exchange activities between the two countries in general, and between the National Political Publishing House Truth and organizations and agencies in Cuba and Latin American countries in particular.

Sharing online from Cuba, Dr. Ruvislei González Saez said that the publication of his book in Vietnam on this occasion is a privilege for the research he has dedicated so much effort to.

The author also expressed gratitude to the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department and the National Political Publishing House, as well as the cooperation and support of reputable translators and experts from the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, the Vietnam News Agency, Hanoi University, etc., in translating and launching the book in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My, the translator of the book, also stated that, based on the available materials of Dr. Ruvislei Gozález Saez, he participated as both translator and editor, providing support and additions to create this chronicle, which comprehensively reflects the diplomatic relations between the Party, the State, and the people of Cuba and Vietnam over the past 60 years.

Expressing his appreciation for the substantial research work of a young author like Dr. Ruvislei Gozález Saez, Ambassador Vu Trung My hoped that the book would be introduced to a wide readership in Vietnam, and also be nominated for the 2024 National Award for External Information to further disseminate and effectively serve external information work.
