Let's continue writing the story of her dream of going to school.

Over the years, the "Supporting Children to School" project has helped many students in Krông Bông district confidently continue their education, nurturing their dreams for a bright future.

Krông Bông district is a remote area with a high percentage of ethnic minorities, and the lives of its people are still fraught with difficulties.

As a teacher at Hoa Phong Secondary School (Hoa Phong commune), Ms. Nguyen Thi Chung understands better than anyone the difficulties that the students here are facing. Many students are unable to attend school due to their circumstances or health conditions.

Driven by love and a desire to share with the children, she and several other members (primarily teachers and police officers ) in Krông Bông district actively campaigned for donations from benefactors to help students.

The "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" volunteer group presented financial support from benefactors of the "Sending Children to School" project to poor students at Hoa Le Primary and Secondary School.

Ms. Chung, Deputy Head of the "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" Volunteer Group, shared: “Sharing the same idea, the members connected with each other and sought out difficult circumstances, quietly supporting the children since 2012. With the support of the Krong Bong District Youth Union, many needy families have received timely assistance. By 2019, the "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" Volunteer Group, with 20 official members, was established and became part of the national volunteer network in the Central Highlands region. Since then, the "Supporting Children to School" project has spread further and reached more poor students in the district.”

Instead of large-scale fundraising, the project calls on each individual and family to adopt a child in extremely difficult circumstances, an orphan, or a child with a serious illness, with a monthly support of 300,000 VND. The group will provide full photos and information about the children's circumstances to those who provide support, fostering a bond, closeness, and trust for long-term support. Currently, the group is coordinating with the Krong Bong District Youth Union and generous donors to support 90 students in the district and hopes to continue supporting them until they complete junior and senior high school.

Chang Thi Ha (5th grade, Cu Pui 2 Primary School) receives monthly support from the "Supporting Children to School" project.

In addition to support from the project, every year members of the "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" volunteer group also raise funds to donate school bags, books, notebooks, bicycles, etc., to the children. Although the support is not large, it has given them strength and helped make their journey to acquire knowledge less difficult.

Thanks to the support of the "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" volunteer group, for the past two years, Chang Thi Ha (a 5th-grade student at Cu Pui 2 Primary School) has been adopted by a benefactor. Born with a hemangioma, the tumor has grown larger, deforming her face and neck. The increasing size of the tumor has obstructed her airways and made movement in her arms and legs more difficult, impacting her daily life and studies. Furthermore, she lost her mother at a young age, and her family's finances depend on her father's meager income from odd jobs, leaving them in dire straits. "The illness tormented me, and the self-consciousness I felt compared to my friends sometimes made me consider dropping out of school. But thanks to the love and encouragement of everyone, I've found the motivation to fight the disease, continue going to school, and play with my friends," Ha confided.

Another case receiving support from the project is that of Y Da Ciut Byă (Grade 2, Cư Drăm Primary School), a student whose circumstances evoke deep sympathy. Her mother passed away early, and her father remarried, leaving Y Da and her four siblings to live with their aunt. Due to the aunt's difficult family circumstances, Y Da's older brother had to drop out of school to work far away to support his younger siblings. His older sister also had to quit school to work in the fields to help their aunt support Y Da and her youngest sibling's education. Being adopted and receiving monthly financial support has helped Y Da alleviate some of her difficulties and motivate her to study hard and strive for a better life.

According to the Krong Bong District Youth Union, the "Supporting Children to School" project not only provides practical support for poor students in remote areas but also positively changes the awareness of many parents regarding education in the locality, especially in ethnic minority areas. Parents are more willing to send their children to school regularly, helping to strengthen the relationship between schools and parents. With the desire for the project to continue to spread, the Krong Bong District Youth Union is coordinating with the "Understanding and Caring for Krong Bong" volunteer group to actively mobilize benefactors to support and empower many students to overcome their circumstances and continue pursuing their dreams of going to school.
