* MS. LE THI XUAN, CHAIRWOMAN OF THE VIETNAM FATHERLAND FRONT COMMITTEE OF DONG GIANG COMMUNE:
Promoting the spirit of "helping those in need"
Following days of continuous rain and flooding, the lives of the people in Dong Giang commune have become very difficult. However, it is precisely in this hardship that the spirit of solidarity has been strongly rekindled. The people in the commune proactively supported each other with bundles of firewood, meals, and temporary shelter. Many agencies, organizations, businesses, and charitable groups from various localities have promptly joined hands to help, providing additional motivation for the people to overcome this most difficult period.
This year's National Unity Day is even more meaningful as it helps spread the spirit of sharing and mobilize additional social resources to help localities care for their people, especially those households severely affected by natural disasters, and to help them stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
* Ms. La Thi Lien, Head of the Front Committee of Thanh Bo 1, Thanh Bo 2 and Duc Loi 10 residential areas (Hai Chau Ward):
Spreading acts of sharing and compassion.
Following the directives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, this year's event was organized in a warm and friendly atmosphere, emphasizing the spirit of mutual support and compassion. Through news reports and images in the press, people in the area understand the hardships that many areas in Da Nang are facing. Therefore, every contribution, whether small or large, reflects a sincere desire to share the difficulties with their fellow citizens.
At the solidarity festival, the inter-residential area raised 10 million VND to support the people of Hung Son commune, a locality severely affected by the recent floods.
* Ms. Ho Thi Ve, Head of the Front Committee of Village 4 (Tra Tan Commune):
The spirit of solidarity is the strength to overcome difficulties.
To ensure a complete and joyful celebration after the floods, villagers worked together for days to clean up each house, sweep the roads, and re-erect flags and decorations. The spirit of community and neighborly solidarity served as a strong support system, helping people remain resilient in the face of natural disasters. During the heavy rains, the commune leaders promptly deployed forces to assist with evacuations; and after the floods, they joined hands to rebuild houses and clear village roads.
This year, the festival was organized simply because the people were still focused on recovering from the natural disaster. However, it was precisely this simplicity that created a warmer atmosphere, as the commune leaders went to each village to listen to the people's concerns and encourage each other to continue stabilizing their lives.
