These days, along with thousands of other candidates in the province, Dang Huy Hoang, a student from Le Quy Don High School (Tran Yen commune), is focusing on reviewing key knowledge, perfecting his test-taking skills, and preparing himself for the 2026 High School Graduation Exam. With the support of his family and teachers, Hoang is ready to enter this important exam, determined to achieve high results after 12 years of study.

Ms. Dang Thi Thu Huong, parent of Dang Huy Hoang from Co Phuc 8 village, Tran Yen commune, shared: "Given my son's anxiety about the exam, the family and school have supported him, helping him access official information from the education and training sector. Thanks to this, he was well-prepared psychologically, learned effective study methods, and familiarized himself with new exam question formats, allowing him to confidently enter the exam."
This year, Le Quy Don High School has 381 students taking the high school graduation exam. All of them have received attentive support and encouragement from their teachers. In addition, students from disadvantaged backgrounds have received visits and support from the local community.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Yen commune, said: "The commune has directed schools to pay attention to and encourage students from disadvantaged backgrounds, in order to provide them with additional motivation before this important exam."

Truong Dai Thang, a student from Le Quy Don High School (a student from a disadvantaged background), shared: “Over the past period, in addition to the encouragement from the school, I also received a gift of encouragement from the commune. This has given me more motivation to study and prepare so that I can confidently enter this important exam.”

In particular, to ensure that all students can take the exam and that no student misses the exam due to difficult circumstances or objective factors, the Tran Yen commune government also coordinated with the school to assess the situation of students in areas at risk of natural disasters in order to direct relevant forces to provide timely support.
The 12th-grade students of Nguyen Hue High School (Yen Bai Ward) concluded their final day of review on June 6th. The knowledge imparted by their teachers helped them confidently enter the exam.

Hoang Quoc Viet High School (Au Lau Ward) has 360 registered candidates for the exam. To promptly encourage and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds before the exam, on June 6, 2026, the People's Committee of Au Lau Ward organized a meeting to encourage the 12th-grade students; and presented 23 gifts to the students. In addition, the Parents' Association of Hoang Quoc Viet High School also presented 23 gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Although the gifts may not be of great material value, they demonstrate the deep concern of the local Party committee, government, school, and parents, helping to further motivate the students to confidently enter this important exam.



For the 2026 high school graduation exam, Lao Cai province has 19,810 registered candidates (including 18,882 students currently in 12th grade in the 2025-2026 school year and 928 independent candidates) with 58 examination centers and 852 examination rooms.
The province has actively implemented a comprehensive set of solutions to ensure thorough preparation for the exam. The Department of Education and Training has proactively guided and directed schools to implement teaching plans, assessment, grading, organize review sessions, consolidate knowledge, and hone students' skills; creating the best possible mindset for students before entering the exam; and is determined to improve the quality of the subjects in which candidates are taking the exam.
In particular, given its characteristics as a mountainous province with a high percentage of ethnic minority students, the province has implemented policies to support boarding and semi-boarding students, as well as students from disadvantaged backgrounds, in the high school graduation exam; at the same time, it has directed communes and wards to develop plans to support disadvantaged students in their localities to participate in the exam…
The Department of Education and Training directs schools to establish working groups to support students, with the principal as the group leader, the school's youth union secretary as the deputy leader, and the homeroom teacher as a member, in order to understand the thoughts, aspirations, and circumstances of students and provide timely support. The goal is to ensure that no student has to drop out of exams due to difficult circumstances.

The Provincial Examination Steering Committee and the examination organization support teams have developed plans and directed relevant departments, agencies, and units to develop and implement plans to ensure the safety of the examination. These plans include measures to prevent rain, floods, and landslides, ensuring that students can attend the exams in full, and preventing students from leaving during exam sessions due to unusual weather conditions, thereby guaranteeing their safety.
Thorough preparation of the conditions for organizing the exam in general, including attention to supporting candidates in particular, has created the best possible mindset for candidates in the province to be ready to enter this important exam.
On December 9, 2025, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 28/2025/NQ-HĐND on financial support for boarding and semi-boarding students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds during the high school graduation exam, with the following support levels: A one-time support of VND 1,200,000 per student for ethnic minority boarding school students during their review and exam preparation period; a one-time support of VND 700,000 per student/trainee during their review and exam preparation period; each educational institution may select a maximum of 15 disadvantaged students/trainees with a strong spirit of overcoming difficulties in their studies to receive one-time support of VND 500,000 per student/trainee during the high school graduation exam.
At the same time, each commune/ward has a plan to support disadvantaged students in the locality to participate in the exam.
