Cunha hopes to be successful at MU like Ibrahimovic |
The Brazilian striker, who joined the Red Devils last month, has splashed out £5m on a luxury mansion. Cunha’s new home in Hale, Greater Manchester, has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and features a gym, bar, cinema, recording studio and billiards room.
The £62.5m Wolves signing hopes the move will be the perfect home base in the north-west of England for him and wife Gabriela, who has just given birth to their second child.
Not only did Cunha buy the house of the famous Swedish striker, he also wore the number 10 shirt that once belonged to Ibrahimovic. Cunha was given Ibrahimovic's old number after Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan.
By buying a house and wearing Ibrahimovic's shirt number, it seems Cunha is eager to replicate the success Ibrahimovic had at Old Trafford. The Swedish striker scored 29 goals in 53 games for MU between 2016 and 2018, winning the Europa League, the English League Cup and the FA Community Shield.
Cunha made his United debut in a friendly against Leeds in Stockholm and then travelled to the US with the team for a pre-season tour. Cunha, along with fellow new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, will also feature against Arsenal at Old Trafford tonight.
At the age of 26, Cunha moved to MU with the hope of creating new success. In previous seasons, although Cunha played impressively at Wolves, the "Wolves" were not the launching pad to help him become a superstar.
