Currently, six players are tied for the top scorer title with two goals each: Kai Havertz (Germany), Elijah Just (New Zealand), Yasin Ayari (Sweden), Folarin Balogun (USA), Erling Haaland (Norway), and Kylian Mbappe (France).
Among them, Mbappe is the name receiving the most attention. After winning the "Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup" with 8 goals, the French striker continues to demonstrate his fearsome goal-scoring instinct. With his experience and leadership position in the French attack, Mbappe is considered a top contender for this year's Golden Boot award.
Alongside Mbappe, Haaland is also showing explosive potential. Making his World Cup debut with the Norwegian national team, the Manchester City striker didn't take long to prove his class with a brace in Norway's 4-1 victory over Iraq.
Although Germany isn't considered the top contender for the championship, Kai Havertz still knows how to shine with crucial goals. Meanwhile, Balogun is playing a key role as the main striker for the US team – a team expected to go far thanks to their home advantage.
With many matches still to go in the group stage and title contenders like England, Spain, Argentina, and Brazil all possessing quality strikers, the top scorer list is sure to see many changes.
