To honor cultural and artistic values, promote the development of the capital's cultural industry, and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Radio and Television Station (October 14, 1954 – October 14, 2024), Hanoi Radio and Television Station is organizing the "Hanoi Singing Contest 2024".
Following the success of 2023, Hanoi Radio and Television continues to organize the "Hanoi Singing Contest 2024" with a new scale and mark in terms of organization and artistic quality.
Journalist Nguyen Kim Khiem, General Director - Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the "Hanoi Singing Contest 2024" will create opportunities for artists to create and perform traditional and contemporary musical works with themes praising the Fatherland, the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and love for the capital city and homeland, contributing to promoting creativity and artistic development. In particular, the contest will also create opportunities for the development of young musical talents, discovering new faces and promising voices to participate in art programs on Hanoi radio and television, serving propaganda events during anniversaries and major holidays of the City.
The Hanoi Television Singing Contest is a unique televised music competition that brings together and selects outstanding and talented singers. Many singers who emerged from the competition have gone on to become famous and beloved artists and singers, such as People's Artist Mai Hoa, Doctor and Vocal Lecturer Anh Tho, People's Artist Hong Hanh, singers Ho Quynh Huong, Khanh Linh, Meritorious Artist Minh Quang, To Minh Thang, Pham Van Giap, Meritorious Artist Phuong Anh, Kasim Hoang Vu, Meritorious Artist Minh Thu, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, Hoang Quyen, and many others.
The Hanoi Voice competition is not only a singing contest for citizens of the capital city, but also an opportunity for singers from all over the country who want to sing about Hanoi and from Hanoi. The Hanoi Singing Contest brings together a panel of judges and professional advisors including renowned artists, musicians, singers, and leading vocal experts such as: People's Artist Quang Vinh - President of the Hanoi Music Association, People's Artist Quoc Hung - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, People's Artist Mai Hoa, singer Ho Quynh Huong, musician Giang Son…
With the aim of being a prestigious vocal competition that discovers and seeks out young musical talents from all over the country, Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 will be a reputable and high-quality artistic platform, a special event that will leave a mark on the cultural and artistic life of the capital city.
The entries were selected based on three musical performance styles: Classical Chamber Music, Folk Music, and Pop Music, with a focus on songs about Hanoi, especially those associated with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.
The Grand Finale of the competition will take place on December 26, 2024, at the Ho Guom Theatre, Hanoi.
