Autumn is considered the most beautiful season of the year, with its mild climate and peaceful, romantic scenery. The allure of Hanoi in autumn delights not only the city's residents but also domestic and international tourists.

Hanoi's autumn has been immortalized in poetry, music, and art as a symbol of beauty and romance, representing a season of the year. The harmonious blend of nature, scenery, cuisine , and people amidst the cool weather creates a captivating charm for Hanoi.

Visitors can leisurely stroll along Thanh Nien, Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Dieu, Dien Bien Phu, and Trang Thi streets, or wander around Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, and Long Bien Bridge to admire the beauty of ancient architectural works such as the Temple of Literature and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, before enjoying autumn cuisine in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Hanoi in the autumn days is not only about admiring the romantic old streets amidst falling golden leaves and feeling the cool air, but also about watching the street vendors carrying the essence of "Hanoi's autumn."

Walking through streets like Phan Dinh Phung and Thanh Nien, you'll find vendors carrying baskets of flowers characteristic of Hanoi's autumn: daisies, yellow chrysanthemums, carnations, lilies... Hanoi's young women and girls take advantage of the opportunity to dress up and gather on the capital's iconic streets and neighborhoods to take photos.

Recently, a seminar themed "Hanoi as a Tourist Destination in Autumn" was held in Hanoi, organized by the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion. This event was part of the Hanoi Autumn Festival.

Over the past period, Hanoi has been actively exploiting its tourism potential through organizing numerous events and developing new tours. At the seminar, representatives from tourist destinations and travel businesses exchanged and introduced the capital's autumn tourism products.

Sharing at the seminar, Vice President of the Hanoi Tourism Association Nguyen Tien Dat informed that nearly 10 tourism products focusing on Hanoi's autumn have been developed. These include: a Hanoi autumn experience tour through the five senses (tourists stroll along flower-lined streets, listen to songs about Hanoi, eat sticky rice cakes, drink egg coffee, and shop for souvenirs); a Hanoi autumn photo tour; a Hanoi food tour; a Hanoi city tour by elevated urban railway and electric bus; an Ao Dai tour (tourists wear Ao Dai and depart from the Old Quarter to Van Phuc silk village for sightseeing and shopping); a tour of Ha Thai lacquer village (Thuong Tin) - bell-shaped conical hat village (Thanh Oai) - Quang Phu Cau incense village (Ung Hoa); a Duong Lam - Mia Pagoda - Son Tay ancient citadel - Khai Nguyen Pagoda tour; a tour to see the "Quintessence of Northern Vietnam" live performance; and a Duong Lam - Mia Pagoda - Son Tay ancient citadel - Khai Nguyen Pagoda - Thay Pagoda - "Quintessence of Northern Vietnam" show tour.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat stated that the Hanoi Autumn tour packages will offer suggestions for tourists to choose from when visiting Hanoi. These are also products introduced by the Hanoi Tourism Association to enable travel agencies to collaborate, share customer resources, and widely promote the tours to a large number of domestic and international tourists.

To truly experience Hanoi's autumn, tourists need time to explore thoroughly. Therefore, travel businesses need to create tours with detailed and reasonable itineraries, giving tourists the opportunity to experience Hanoi's autumn more deeply, Mr. Dat emphasized.

According to Vu Van Tuyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Community Tourism Association, in order for autumn tourism products to become attractive and diverse, attracting more domestic and international tourists, Hanoi's tourism products need to promote the cultural identity of each locality. For example, the Quang Phu Cau incense village experience tour (Ung Hoa) needs to include more new and distinctly characteristic elements so that tourists don't feel like they are experiencing the same thing as the incense village in Hue.

In addition, Hanoi could develop heritage routes and tour products in both the inner and outer city areas to expand the range of experiences for tourists.

According to Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, to make tourism products attractive to tourists, travel agencies need to cooperate in developing and exploiting these products. The Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center is always ready to support the promotion of new tourism products and promote cooperation among travel businesses to share customer resources and develop the market.

According to Le Thi Thiet, a member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, Hanoi's cuisine, with its distinctive autumn dishes, also plays an important role in shaping tourism products.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thiet, Hanoi has many delicious dishes characteristic of autumn. Therefore, visiting Hanoi during this season, tourists can enjoy products such as sticky rice cakes, rice dumplings, vermicelli soup with crab, vermicelli soup with snails, or a steaming bowl of pho in the cool autumn weather… However, to make cuisine a strength in tourism development during this season, Hanoi should develop a "culinary map," helping tourists easily discover and experience the capital's cuisine and creating a highlight that attracts tourists both visually and gastronomically.

According to Le Thi Tuyen, representative of the Culture and Information Department of Ung Hoa district, the locality is currently promoting the development of handicraft village tourism products, especially the Quang Phu Cau incense village. This is an attractive destination, giving tourists the opportunity to experience the traditional incense-making craft and admire the vibrant incense swathes under the autumn sun.

Besides introducing tourism products associated with Hanoi's autumn season, at the seminar, managers and experts also offered suggestions to help Hanoi's tourism products attract more tourists and develop more sustainably in the future.

At 7 PM on September 20th, the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 will officially open in the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake and several tourist destinations throughout the city. This event, aimed at promoting tourism and showcasing Hanoi's culture, is hoped to increase the attractiveness of the capital city to tourists.

With many exciting experiential activities as well as large-scale performances, the organizers hope that the people of Hanoi and tourists attending the program will have enjoyable and meaningful experiences.
