The Japanese black grape farm in Hiep Thanh commune continues to expand its area to meet the needs of tourists seeking sightseeing and unique experiences.
During the summer of 2026 – the peak harvest season for the OCOP 3-star Japanese black grape variety in Hiep Thanh commune – the vineyard welcomes 300-400 tourists daily who come to experience production and directly harvest the grapes. Vineyard owner Nguyen Huu Thanh recounts that the idea of agro-tourism began to take shape more than 10 years ago.
He simultaneously converted 2,000 square meters of low-income crops to specialized cultivation of nearly 10 varieties of Japanese black grapes after a period of self-study, research, and successful trial planting. In 2024, after 8 years of perfecting the production process and being recognized by the province as an agro-tourism destination, Mr. Thanh officially opened his farm to visitors.

An increasing number of tourists are visiting bee farms in Duc Trong commune to experience and enjoy OCOP (One Commune One Product) products from the beekeeping process under the coffee forest canopy.
By 2025-2026, Mr. Thanh plans to successfully cultivate an additional 2,000 m² of black grapes in felt pots, increasing productivity by approximately 30% compared to black grapes grown in soil beds, attracting an even larger number of tourists to experience the process. Furthermore, he will create a space for visitors to learn about and access the stories behind the creation of over 30 unique 3-4 star OCOP (One Commune One Product) products in the province.
With a 3-star OCOP rating and a goal of reaching 4 stars by the end of 2026, the "ambassador" of OCOP honey farm tourism in Duc Trong commune is continuously expanding its distribution channels on digital platforms. From domestic and international tourist groups coming to experience the farm, owner Le Quoc Thai guides, explains, and illustrates the life of searching for flowers and collecting honey through each beehive, then uploads the videos to numerous social media channels with huge viewership worldwide . Through this, he amplifies the image of the land and people with their beekeeping practices for honey from coffee flowers and other flowers – a miraculous crystallization of the temperate highland region of Duc Trong commune.

Many international tourist groups return to explore the diligent work of the bee colonies producing honey in the agricultural area of Duc Trong commune.
As the delegation of Philippine agricultural experts visiting this farm expressed their admiration for the beekeeping techniques practiced amidst coffee plantations, relying on nature, and for directly tasting the 3-star OCOP products such as pollen, royal jelly, and pure honey. Similarly, Ms. Katarina, representing the environmental protection team for bee colonies from the Czech Republic, commented: “Mr. Le Quoc Thai’s more than 20 years of beekeeping experience is invaluable for applying models both domestically and internationally. I will return as a volunteer to care for the farm’s bee colonies, helping them develop even more sustainably…”
Statistics show that the province currently has 857 OCOP products in the food and agricultural product group, including 4 OCOP products related to ornamental plants and tourism. Over the past period, the province has implemented many trade promotion activities for characteristic OCOP products to serve tourists and local consumers. Simultaneously, it has supported OCOP entities in participating in regional and national tourism activities, thereby enhancing brand recognition, expanding markets, and strengthening product distribution linkages.
Ms. Bui Thi Hang, Deputy Head of the Provincial Rural Development Sub-Department, added: "Currently, the entire province has 96 community trademarks associated with OCOP products, expanding markets, developing brands, and enhancing the position of the province's specialty agricultural products in domestic and international markets, meeting the requirements of integration..."

Japanese black grapes from Hiep Thanh commune are expected to be upgraded to OCOP 4-star status by the end of 2026.
Following the direction of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the entire province will continue to build and expand models of rural tourism characteristic of each region. This includes focusing on developing tourism products associated with OCOP products, traditional craft villages, and green tourism, creating sustainable livelihoods. In particular, the development of rural tourism, community tourism, and ecotourism will be integrated into national target programs such as New Rural Development, Sustainable Poverty Reduction, and Socio-economic Development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
