Doctor Nguyen Van Lam, Department of General Surgery, Duc Giang General Hospital, said that in the operating room, when the bandage was opened, the patient's thigh blood flowed in a stream. Recognizing that the patient had a ruptured femoral artery and crushed many tissues around the wound, the surgical team had to stop the bleeding with a blood vessel clum, and at the same time quickly sew up the injured area.
Up to now, after 4 days of surgery, the patient is awake, has good contact, can move the left leg, the tip of the extremities is warm, but there is still numbness in the lower middle of the inner thigh of the injured side.
Dr. Lam said that this is a case with a large and severe peripheral vascular injury that can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. In these cases, it is necessary to quickly apply gauze to the bleeding wound, then apply a tight bandage and take it to the nearest medical facility.
