The program, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Children's Council, took place on May 26th. Yesterday, Tao Dan Park (District 1) was filled with the familiar white and red colors of the Children's Council uniforms, along with the green of the soldiers' uniforms, as the children recreated the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign 70 years ago.
Mr. NGUYEN MANH CUONG (Head of the Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee)
Proud to be a soldier of Dien Bien Phu.
Student Nguyen Kha Vy (Do Van Day Secondary School) said she woke up at 5 am to prepare and be present at the military festival. Despite waking up early and traveling a long distance, she always had a radiant smile.
Wearing the Ho Chi Minh soldier's uniform and pith helmet for the first time, Vy proudly said: "The uniform is a bit hot, but I feel very honored to have the opportunity to be a little soldier at Dien Bien Phu."
Meanwhile, Tran Nhat Nam (from Doan Thi Diem Primary School) said he was so excited to play the role of a soldier that he tossed and turned all night before finally falling asleep.
Dressed in his soldier's uniform, Nam repeatedly asked his teachers why they had to attach branches to his helmet and backpack. After listening to his teacher's explanation, Nam said, "I hate war. I want to live in peace and joy like this forever."
The parade of the divisions (competition groups) recreating the image of the forces in the Dien Bien Phu campaign attracted the attention and viewership of many people present in the park.
Notable examples include the campaign flag parade, the city-wide campaign command, the Northwest Division (competition cluster 3) recreating the engineering and logistics-transport forces, and the Victory Division (competition cluster 2) recreating the civilian labor force and medical personnel.
Meanwhile, the Youth Union's affiliated units, including the City Children's House, Tuoi Tre newspaper, the Center for the Development of Young Scientists and Technologists, and the Sao Bac Dau General Group, played the roles of war correspondents and cultural performers. All of them created a fervent atmosphere reminiscent of the campaign 70 years ago.

In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory, the youth of Ho Chi Minh City have held seven weeks of intensive emulation campaigns with activities from the city level to the grassroots, attracting approximately 5 million participants with the spirit of "Keeping the Dien Bien Phu flame alive - Children are ready".
"The Youth Pioneer Organization has been, is, and will always be the main driving force and indispensable environment for children to practice, strive, and grow," said Ms. Hien Tran.

Mr. Cuong also noted that the City Youth Union and the City Children's Council should review and improve the quality of their activities, monitor the implementation of the Children's Law as well as regulations on the protection, care, and education of children. At the same time, they should proactively propose policies and support for the comprehensive development of children in the city.
"Let's create all the necessary conditions for the Youth Union and the Children's Union to operate effectively, so that the Children's Union can effectively implement the movement of the City's children following the five teachings of Uncle Ho," Mr. Cuong stated.
