A total of over 81.5 billion VND was mobilized from the central and provincial budgets, according to a resolution of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.

Reviving a national cultural and historical icon.

According to the approved plan, the project will focus on restoring and beautifying important items including: 4 Thai Mieu buildings (labeled 01, 02, 08, 09), the temple of Ba Hang Dau, and constructing an entrance gate to the historical site in traditional architecture.

These structures were all designed based on archaeological evidence, bearing the distinct cultural and architectural imprint of the Late Le Dynasty.

Specifically, four ancestral temples will be restored on their original foundations, each with a single story, a wooden frame made of ironwood, a restored tiled roof, and a floor paved with traditional-style tiles. The truss structure, wooden walls with silk-paneled frames, and doors with upper and lower panels all faithfully recreate the original architectural spirit of the Le Dynasty in the 15th century.

The highlight is the glass roof covering the archaeological exhibition pit between the two temples, using modern materials harmoniously combined with the traditional space, ensuring the function of displaying and preserving artifacts.

The temple dedicated to Lady Hang Dau will be renovated to a scale of 8.68m x 12.08m, with a height of nearly 8m. The main gate of the historical site will be designed with three entrances, nearly 10m high, constructed of reinforced concrete with a wood-like finish, and covered with traditional tiles. This will be a highlight welcoming visitors, reflecting the solemnity and scale of a top-tier historical site in Thanh Hoa province.

Lam Kinh is not simply a complex of historical relics. It is the sacred "Western Capital," the birthplace of the Lam Son Uprising, the hometown of the hero Le Loi, and also the resting place of many kings of the Later Le Dynasty.

In 1428, after driving out the Ming army, Le Loi ascended the throne, taking the regnal name Le Thai To, ushering in one of the most prosperous dynasties in Vietnamese history.

Although his capital was in Thang Long (Dong Kinh), he still had Lam Kinh built as a second capital, carrying profound spiritual and political significance.

Lam Kinh is not only historically significant but also a symbol of the cultural and civilizational traditions of Dai Viet in the 15th century. The architecture here reflects a harmonious blend of East Asian philosophy, Confucian thought, and Vietnamese folk art, as evidenced by the tombs, temples, inscriptions, and many valuable archaeological artifacts.

This site has been classified as a national heritage site since 1962, and in 2012, it was officially recognized as a Special National Monument, a testament to the timeless value of this land of "spiritual and talented people".

From historical sites to drivers of development

The People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province emphasized that the project's goal is not only to restore and preserve the heritage but also to promote its value in conjunction with tourism development and local socio-economic development.

Lam Kinh has been identified as one of the key cultural and historical tourist destinations of Thanh Hoa province in particular and the whole country in general.

With a capital of over 81 billion VND, the majority of which is allocated to construction costs, and the remainder to investment consulting, project management, and contingency costs, the province requires the investor and related units to strictly adhere to procedures, ensuring quality, progress, and absolute safety during construction and operation.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the assigned investor, will closely coordinate with the Department of Construction, specialized agencies, and local authorities to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of each item, ensuring adherence to the principle of "preservation is respecting the original," while also aiming for long-term usability.

For the people of Thanh Hoa, Lam Kinh is not just a historical site, but a source of pride and a cherished connection for generations. Despite centuries of historical upheavals, this land has retained its spiritual essence, becoming a place of return for those who have left their homeland and a spiritual and cultural destination for domestic and international tourists.

Investing in the restoration and preservation of Lam Kinh at this time is not only a necessary step in heritage conservation, but also carries a strong message: "We must not let heritage be forgotten in the flow of modern development."

When old tiled roofs are replaced with restored materials, when each temple and city gate is recreated according to its original form, it is also the moment when the soul of a dynasty and of the entire nation is awakened and returns to the heart of today's era.
