Nature's treasure awaits awakening.
Thai Nguyen possesses rich and diverse natural tourism resources. One of the province's outstanding advantages is the eastern slope of the Tam Dao mountain range. This area has a mild climate, a rich ecosystem, and high biodiversity, making it very favorable for developing various types of tourism, including resort tourism, sports tourism, and health and wellness tourism. If effectively exploited, this area will become an attractive destination for tourists.
Mr. Ngo The Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Xuyen commune, said: "As a locality located on the eastern slope of Tam Dao, we hope that this strength will be exploited to develop tourism, contributing to job creation and increasing income for local people."
The system of large lakes also brings a unique beauty to the Thai Nguyen region. Among them, Nui Coc Lake, with a surface area of about 2,500 hectares, is being developed into a comprehensive tourist area with various types of resorts, entertainment, spiritual tourism and ecotourism, attracting a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province, especially during holidays.
Ba Be Lake is considered a "green gem" amidst the mountains and forests of Northeast Vietnam. With a surface area of over 500 hectares, it is a distinctive highlight of tourism in Thai Nguyen.

As the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam and among the top 100 largest freshwater lakes in the world, Ba Be Lake is surrounded by primeval forests and a rich cave system. It boasts a diverse ecosystem, majestic natural landscapes, and is closely associated with the distinctive cultural identity of the Tay, Nung, and Dao ethnic groups, always attracting those who love exploring nature and highland culture.
Ms. Ho Thi Thanh, a tourist from Hai Phong, shared: "Ba Be Lake possesses a pristine beauty, a lush green environment, and a cool climate. The scenery here delights me and many other tourists."
In addition, the province has 69 natural and artificial lakes, such as Nam Cat Lake, Suoi Lanh Lake, Vai Mieu Lake, Ghenh Che Lake, etc., creating favorable conditions for the development of ecotourism, weekend getaways, and water sports activities.
In addition, the four northeastern limestone mountain ranges stretching across Ngan Son, Na Phac, Hiep Luc, Dong Phuc, Na Ri, Quang Son, La Hien, Vo Nhai... also create many majestic mountain ranges, deep valleys, and fascinating cave systems such as Phuong Hoang Cave, Mo Ga Stream, Ancient People's Cave, Hua Ma Cave, Tham Phay Cave, and Fairy Cave, possessing great value in geology and exploratory tourism.
Possessing many large tea-growing areas also represents significant potential for tourism development in Thai Nguyen. In particular, many beautiful tea hills in Tan Cuong, La Bang, Vo Tranh, etc., have both economic value and offer opportunities for agricultural tourism and unique tea culture experiences.
In addition, the system of special-use forests, such as Than Sa - Phuong Hoang, Kim Hy, Nam Xuan Lac... along with many natural waterfalls and streams such as Cong River, Cau River, Nang River create a harmonious ecological network that can develop waterway tourism, community-based ecotourism and year-round resort tourism.

Attracting investment flows, elevating the destination's status.
With its many beautiful landscapes and scenic spots, Thai Nguyen possesses precious "gifts" from nature. However, to effectively unlock this potential, a coordinated effort from the local government, relevant agencies, and the local people is essential.
Accordingly, the most important tasks are to invest in, upgrade, and expand the transportation network; strengthen connections between tourist areas and destinations; develop high-quality services at destinations; and improve communication, etiquette, and service skills for tourists among the local population.
Nguyen Van Minh Anh, a student at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, commented: "Thai Nguyen has many beautiful places, but young people like us really enjoy exploring new areas, especially the lush green hills interspersed among the limestone mountain ranges in some of the northern communes of the province."
However, the lack of investment in transportation and the underdeveloped service sectors are major obstacles for tourists. In particular, the local people don't know how to attract visitors, creating unnecessary drawbacks for tourism in Thai Nguyen.

| During a trip to Thai Nguyen, tourism associated with experiencing tea culture is a noteworthy highlight. With a tea production tradition spanning hundreds of years, many tea-growing regions in the province have become attractive tourist destinations. |
According to expert assessments, to elevate key tourist areas, the province should focus on planning and investing in the development of the Nui Coc Lake and Ba Be Lake tourist areas, aiming to strongly attract large corporations to invest in projects providing high-end eco-tourism, resort, homestay, spiritual tourism, and camping products; while also organizing national and international-scale cultural and sports events.
In addition, the province needs to focus on developing tourism spaces at Nui Coc Lake, Ba Be Lake, Ghenh Che Lake, and the eastern communes of the Tam Dao mountain range. The main focus should be on developing high-end resort tourism products, high-quality entertainment, MICE tourism, community tourism, ecotourism, and agricultural tourism associated with culture and ethnic identity.
At the same time, focus should be placed on developing cave exploration tourism, adventure sports, ecotourism in tea-growing areas, and the cultural values of the Tay ethnic group in the Northeast region.

Ms. Ha Thi Bich Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated: From now until 2030, the province will focus on developing the Nui Coc Lake tourist area, linked with the eastern slopes of Tam Dao and the Ba Be Lake tourist area, into key high-end eco-tourism, resort, and entertainment destinations. Simultaneously, the province will complete the socio-economic and detailed tourism planning for these two tourist areas.
For the area surrounding Lake Nui Coc and the eastern slopes of the Tam Dao mountain range, including the communes of Dai Phuc, Phu Xuyen, La Bang, Dai Tu, Van Phu, and Quan Chu, Dai Phuc commune will be the focal point. For the Ba Be Lake tourist area, the surrounding area includes the communes of Ba Be, Dong Phuc, Nam Cuong, and Cho Ra, with Dong Phuc commune as the focal point for concentrated investment in transportation infrastructure connecting to tourism development, attracting investment in socio-economic infrastructure and tourism products.
One of the important tasks is for Thai Nguyen to continue effectively organizing investment promotion activities, attracting large enterprises with the capacity and experience to invest in projects providing high-end tourism products in the Nui Coc Lake tourist area, Ba Be Lake, and key surrounding areas.
In addition, the province is focusing on attracting investment in high-end resort products, 5-star hotels, and resorts in Dai Phuc and Dong Phuc communes; a Swiss-style urban complex in Dai Phuc commune; building at least three more golf courses in Quan Chu commune, Dong Phuc commune, and Song Cong ward; and developing resort tourism, ecotourism, cultural tourism, entertainment, culinary, agricultural product, homestay, medical tourism, and spiritual tourism in the areas surrounding Nui Coc Lake and Ba Be Lake...
