The Tet Quy Mao 2023 flower street on Nguyen Duy Hieu Street (Thanh Hoa City) has been operating for many days. Every year, this place sells ornamental plants and flowers to serve people welcoming the new year from the beginning of December.

Running along the sidewalk, the colors of peach blossoms, kumquats, and grapefruits are bustling, creating a brilliant space, bringing the feeling of Tet atmosphere so close.

Kumquat trees need to be carefully cared for when placed on the street to help them stay fresh and produce beautiful fruit.

According to the traders, this year ornamental plants and spring flowers are sold earlier than usual because Tet is very close. This year the weather is quite favorable so the kumquat trees grow well and produce beautiful fruit.

Tall grapefruit trees cost between 17 and 20 million VND.

In particular, bonsai kumquat pots have beautiful shapes and ensure round, green berries. The selling price of kumquat this year is higher than previous years, with an average kumquat tree costing several hundred thousand to several million VND more.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung (born in 1983, residing in Thanh Hoa City), the owner of a grapefruit stall with nearly 20 years of experience, said: "There are still nearly 20 days until Tet, but I have received many orders from companies and offices. This year, my grapefruit garden bloomed beautifully, with many fruits and at the right time, so most of the customers who came to see it were satisfied."

Regarding the kumquat bonsai stall of Mr. Nguyen The Long (Thanh Hoa City), he said: "I ordered more than 50 kumquat bonsai trees from Hung Yen to sell here. The price at the beginning of the season will definitely be higher than the time near Tet. According to the assessment, the demand for bonsai trees this year will be high. Therefore, the price will also increase a lot compared to previous years."

Many people are interested in the impressive bonsai kumquat products combined with driftwood. This product can be worth up to 50 - 70 million VND, depending on the pot.

Scenes of buying and selling, walking around peach and kumquat selling points are still sparse.

Going shopping for Tet ornamental plants with her family, Ms. Le Thi Lan (59 years old, Thanh Hoa City) shared: "Every year, my family buys kumquats very early to have more time to "play" and admire them. To choose a satisfactory kumquat tree, what I care about most is that the tree must be green, have large, round fruits and many flower buds so that it can bloom in time for Tet."

Meanwhile, the price of a medium-sized peach tree ranges from 1 to 3 million VND, an old tree stump costs tens of millions VND. As for grapefruit, the starting price is from 5 million VND or more.

Normally, flower and ornamental plant markets only become bustling after the Kitchen God Festival (December 23). Currently, the scene of buying and selling and walking around peach and kumquat flower shops is still not bustling.
