In this context, high-quality human resources will be a key factor for the success of the financial center model.
Integrating digital technology into training.
The International Financial Center in Da Nang City plans to conduct controlled trials of several new models, such as: digital assets, digital currencies, digital payments, and digital money transfers; and establish new exchanges and trading platforms.
Simultaneously, focus on attracting investment funds, remittance funds, and small and medium-sized fund management companies; promote the development of startups providing financial solutions for consumption, tourism, trade, logistics, and related services within the Free Trade Zone; and support, advise, and develop related legal services.
According to Resolution No. 29-NQ/TU of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee on the establishment of the Vietnam International Finance Center in Da Nang City, Da Nang University is tasked with collaborating with other educational and research institutions to develop a comprehensive training program for high-quality human resources to serve the Finance Center… researching forms of collaborative training and international certification; strengthening bilingual teaching; and establishing finance clubs…
One of the highlights in the training of digital human resources at the University of Economics (Da Nang University) is the development of interdisciplinary training programs that integrate knowledge of economics, business, management with digital technology.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy, the school's Rector, stated: “In the digital age, the fields of economics, finance, and management are increasingly digitized. Therefore, training programs must also meet this change. However, the allocation of digital technology courses still shows a disparity between disciplines. The school is striving to increase the proportion of technology courses in disciplines with a high level of application. This knowledge is particularly useful for students working in finance, risk management, and e-commerce, where data plays a crucial role in building business strategies.”
It is projected that during the period 2025-2030, Da Nang city will need more than 50,000 highly skilled workers in the fields of finance, technology, and support services. The system of universities, colleges, and vocational training centers is required to restructure its curricula towards bilingualism, international collaboration, and training tailored to market demands.
Be proactive in training financial human resources.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Training and Quality Assurance Board of Da Nang University, said that since 2022, Da Nang University has directed and assigned its member schools to take the lead in opening training programs to meet the human resource supply requirements of the Financial Center.
The University of Da Nang directs and encourages schools to strengthen ties with businesses, providing support to enhance infrastructure for training and research in the Fintech field.
Accordingly, in 2025, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (University of Da Nang) will enroll 60 students in the Fintech program, with a focus on 100% English-language instruction. The university has invested in the VKU Fintech Hub, equipped with modern facilities, specialized software for financial data analysis (SAS), simulation software (e-commerce trading platforms; business strategies; electronic payments; digital marketing), and a comprehensive curriculum and materials to meet the training requirements of this program.
The University of Economics also implements a blended learning model combining in-person classroom instruction and online learning through the Study-Arts platform. Study-Arts not only provides students with greater flexibility in accessing knowledge but also optimizes the use of digital resources such as video lectures, e-learning materials, online discussion forums, and interactive tests. Thanks to its interdisciplinary training program, integrating knowledge of economics, business, management, and digital technology, students are encouraged to proactively access advanced financial and technological trends, contributing to the formation of high-quality human resources for the digital economy.
The significant progress in training, from curriculum innovation and investment in digital learning infrastructure to fostering student creativity, shows that Da Nang is seriously preparing for its future as an international financial center.
Da Nang is striving to develop a high-quality human resource ecosystem where financial knowledge is integrated with technology, and where innovation becomes its identity. This is the foundation for the city to enter the global competition in digital finance and realize its goal of becoming an international financial center.
