The preparation of candidates for election in the province has been carried out seriously, ensuring comprehensive leadership by the Party and maximizing the role of the Fatherland Front (MTTQ) and its member organizations. Special attention has been paid to building a rational structure among different components and fields; ensuring the proportion of female delegates, young delegates, ethnic minority delegates, and non-Party members... in order to fully reflect the voices of all strata of the people.
Alongside the structure, the quality of delegates is identified as a core criterion. Election committees at all levels resolutely exclude from the list those who do not meet the standards, show signs of ideological and political decline, moral decay, or lack credibility with the people. The consistent viewpoint throughout is: "We will not lower standards for the sake of structure," "quality over quantity"; and the trust of the voters is the highest measure of value.

After three rounds of consultations, Binh Thuan ward has selected a list of outstanding candidates. Of these, 46.8% are female delegates; 9.4% are non-Party members; 40.6% are young delegates; and 34.4% are re-elected delegates. Mr. Hoang Trung Tuyen, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, affirmed: Besides the structural requirements, a mandatory requirement is that candidates must enjoy high levels of trust in their place of residence. This is the most objective and impartial screening channel regarding the moral character and lifestyle of candidates before entering the election campaign.
In Bac Me commune, where 20 representatives were elected to the new term of the People's Council, Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council, said that the locality prioritizes the representation of representatives from the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and villages to broaden representation and closely follow the realities of people's lives.
A new feature of this year's election is the emphasis on training candidates' skills immediately after the official list is announced. Training courses on campaigning skills have been systematically organized in localities, helping candidates develop practical and feasible action programs. Ms. Nong Thi Hoa Xuan, from Thuong Lam commune, a young candidate running for the first time in the provincial People's Council, shared: "When I ran for office, I was worried about how to convey my passion to the voters in such a short time. However, through the training in public speaking skills and action program development, I understood that what voters need is not flowery promises, but concrete solutions to issues of poverty alleviation, economic development, education, and healthcare for the people, especially in ethnic minority areas."
Comrade Nguyen Van Ton, Head of the Local Government Department, Department of Internal Affairs, said: Organizing training courses on election campaigning skills helps candidates become more confident when interacting with voters, creating equality and objectivity in the election campaign, and at the same time helping voters have a solid basis to choose their candidates.
A rigorous selection process for a breakthrough term.
At voter consultation meetings held in residential areas, the democratic atmosphere is maximized. Frank and objective feedback provides valuable information that helps authorities comprehensively assess the qualities and capabilities of candidates.
Holding a summary list of the candidates' biographies, Mr. Cap Van Hai, from residential group 11, Binh Thuan ward, expressed his hope that the delegates for the next term would be people who dare to think, dare to act, and dare to take responsibility. Especially with the strong decentralization of the Law on the Organization of Local Government, delegates must have solid professional qualifications to effectively supervise and decide on important local issues. According to Mr. Hai, he will listen to and understand each candidate's action plan before casting his vote to choose the most outstanding delegate.
The 2026-2031 election takes place against the backdrop of the country entering an era of progress, demanding higher standards for each elected representative. Representatives need not only a firm political stance and practical capabilities but also to clearly demonstrate exemplary responsibility, maintain close contact with and listen to the pulse of the people's lives.
With a well-structured and scientific preparation process and a spirit of democratic supremacy, voters have every right to expect a new term with representatives who are both politically sound and professionally competent, truly serving as a solid bridge between the Party, the State, and the People. Everything is ready for the National Election Day on March 15th – a day when each voter's ballot will contribute to building a streamlined, effective, and efficient government apparatus.
