The province, along with the rest of the country, quickly completed the reorganization of commune-level administrative units and successfully implemented a two-tiered local government model. From a locality relying on non-renewable resources, Quang Ninh today is promoting green transformation, energy transformation, fostering the development of a circular economy, digital economy, urban economy, and building a digital society; industry is being restructured towards modernization, prioritizing the development of foundational industries, emerging industries, green and clean processing and manufacturing industries, high technology, renewable energy, and new energy; marine economic sectors are being oriented towards breakthrough development, forming multi-sector marine economic clusters; and ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, and modern rural areas are being developed...

By 2025, the province's per capita GRDP had increased 4.6 times compared to 2010, placing Quang Ninh among the leading provinces nationwide in terms of living standards.
