Cultural Festival Imprint

The 2023 Thầy Thím Shrine Cultural and Tourism Festival is also an opportunity for La Gi town to promote and introduce its potential, attract tourism investment, and boost socio -economic development in the locality. Furthermore, the folk activities in the festival aim to preserve good traditional customs, promote the beauty of cultural life and civilized urban lifestyle, thus the festival has become a highlight contributing to the increasingly vibrant tourism landscape of La Gi.

The ceremony begins with a solemn ritual on the morning of the 14th day of the 9th lunar month: the welcoming of the deities and a procession of flower-decorated floats to bring the two deities, Master and Mistress, to their enshrinement in the temple. The midday vegetarian offering, the offering of food and blessings, the commemoration of the ancestors, the offering to the soldiers, and the main ceremonial rituals… these are indispensable ceremonies in every autumn festival. Through these events, local people and visitors from near and far gain a deeper understanding of the shining example of compassion and selflessness, further enhancing their reverence for the virtues of the two "Chi Duc Tien Sinh and Chi Duc Nuong Ton Than" deities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Chieu from Ham Thuan Nam expressed: “Every year, my family and I come to offer incense to the Thầy Thím shrine to pray for peace and health and participate in the Thầy Thím shrine festival. But this year, I noticed that the organizing committee has prepared more thoroughly in all aspects than in previous years. What impressed me most was the special attention paid to ensuring security and safety for visitors; the area inside and outside the shrine is always clean and beautiful.”

The legend of the Teacher and Aunt is recreated through vivid and engaging models depicting their lives, along with noble deeds showcased in the Offering Ceremony. In response to the 2023 National Tourism Year – “ Binh Thuan – Green Convergence”, this year's festival includes lion and dragon dances, a special music program to celebrate the festival, a tug-of-war competition, and a traditional cake-making competition…
