In 2022, the Thầy Thím Shrine Cultural and Tourism Festival was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, making the local people extremely proud. Everyone was delighted and excited by the shrine's spacious, clean, and beautiful appearance after several upgrades, renovations, and restorations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga from Tan An ward, La Gi town, happily shared: “As a local resident, I am extremely proud that La Gi town has such a beautiful religious site. Visiting the shrine makes me feel incredibly peaceful and relaxed.”
Visiting Thầy Thím Shrine, tourists not only get to immerse themselves in the fresh air, admire the lush green natural scenery of the mountains and forests, learn about the shrine's architecture and the legend of the two deities "Chí Đức Tiên Sinh and Chí Đức Nương Nương Tôn Thần," but also entrust their wishes and beliefs to this sacred place.
Mr. Phan Cong Nho, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, expressed: "When it comes to spirituality, everyone is different, but my family and I strongly believe in the sacredness of the shrine. Therefore, we frequently visit the shrine to pray for health, peace, and good things for our family."
After their secret wishes were fulfilled, many visitors from all over returned to the shrine to express their gratitude to the Master and Mistress, and to contribute to the restoration and beautification of the historical site, making it even more magnificent.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Head of the Management Board of the Thầy Thím Shrine Historical and Cultural Relic Site, said: "Every year, the Thầy Thím Shrine not only welcomes a large number of tourists during festivals, but also during the spring festival, many visitors come to pay their respects to Thầy Thím. Therefore, the Management Board has made preparations in many aspects to welcome visitors in the most thoughtful way."
After each visit to the shrine to pay respects and offer incense in remembrance of the merits of Teacher Thim, visitors continue their journey to the tomb area of Teacher Thim in the Bau Thong forest.
Every year, in addition to the traditional cultural and tourism festival of Thầy Thím Shrine held on the 15th day of the 9th lunar month, the tomb-visiting ceremony of Thầy Thím, held on the 5th day of the 1st lunar month, attracts a large number of local people and tourists.
This year, right from the first days of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, at the Thầy Thím Shrine historical site, the Management Board of the Thầy Thím Shrine organized the traditional rituals of the Thầy Thím Tomb Sweeping Ceremony. Many local people and visitors from all over came to participate in the rituals and visit the tomb. Lighting incense at the Thầy Thím tomb not only expresses respect and belief in the sacredness of Thầy Thím, praying for good fortune, peace, and success in business, but also affirms the beautiful cultural tradition symbolizing the Vietnamese principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," contributing to the education of character and moral qualities for all generations, helping people to increasingly strive towards truth, goodness, and beauty, while preserving and promoting the cultural identity and customs that have existed for thousands of years.
