Noi Bai Airport was packed with people on the afternoon of the 5th day of Tet (Lunar New Year).

On the afternoon of February 21, 2026 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), areas A and B of the domestic terminal at Noi Bai International Airport experienced localized congestion due to a sudden surge in passengers, especially on flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces after the Tet holiday.

The total passenger volume on the 5th day of Tet reached 113,963. This included 49,596 international passengers and 64,367 domestic passengers. The number of flights reached 687, including 311 international flights and 376 domestic flights. The peak day after Tet is expected to be June 22nd (the 6th day of Tet) with 117,298 passengers.

These days, airlines like Vietnam Airlines , VietJet Air, and Sun Phu Quoc Air are operating at full capacity.
