Volunteering for the community
On Sunday, the beach of Tri Nguyen Island (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City) was busier than usual. From early morning, young people from Nha Trang City were present on the island to prepare for a meaningful weekend: collecting trash to clean up the marine environment. "We'll split into groups, each person in a different area to make sure no trash is missed," said Ngo Thi My Le, her nimble hands picking up pieces of plastic waste and putting them into bags, reminding those around her. During the work week, Le's weekend would normally be a time for rest and meeting friends. However, My Le responded to the call from the Vinh Nguyen Ward Youth Union and joined everyone in the "Green Sunday" initiative.

Besides cleaning activities, the Youth Union members also directly educated locals and tourists about the harmful effects of plastic waste on the marine ecosystem, calling on everyone to join hands in protecting the environment through practical actions such as using cloth bags instead of plastic bags, and bringing personal water bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles.
Nearby, seeing the young people diligently working, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet, a resident of the island, also joined in. "Seeing the young people's spirit of environmental protection, I also want to contribute, to protect the environment where I live," Ms. Nguyet said. As the sun began to shine intensely, the trash on the beach was gradually collected into large plastic bags, gathered together to await transport to shore for processing.
Leaving Vinh Nguyen, we followed the young people from Khanh Hoa University and the Nha Trang City Youth Union to Vinh Truong ward. A car displaying a banner with the words "Digital Literacy Program for the People" stopped at the ward's cultural center, where the Youth Union members quickly prepared smartphones, computers, and instructional materials to "spread digital knowledge" to the local residents.
Holding her smartphone, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a small business owner at Vinh Truong market, followed the instructions of the youth volunteers to check her residency information and integrate her social insurance into the VNeID app. Beside her, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hanh carefully noted down the instructions on how to access the online public service website and how to use it when needed. "Thanks to the guidance from the youth volunteers, I learned that many administrative procedures can now be done online from home. I and other citizens also received information about online scams to be more vigilant and avoid losing money," Mr. Hanh said.

Ms. Mai Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Khanh Hoa University, said that the "Digital Literacy for the People" model, recently launched by the Provincial Youth Union, is one of the pioneering forces in implementing it in the community. Volunteer teams are trained in digital information, actively supporting people in using computers, smartphones, and social media; guiding them to access online public services; preventing digital fraud; and identifying harmful and malicious information online; integrating social insurance into the VNeID application and many other convenient services... Besides Vinh Truong ward, the "Digital Literacy for the People" mobile service of the university's Youth Union has also just been deployed in Cam Phu ward (Cam Ranh City) and will "roll out" to many other places throughout the province in the near future.
Many practical results
