Highlights of Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023

During Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, the province welcomed 172,569 visitors, more than double the number from Tourism Week 2022; hotel occupancy reached 70-75%, with the Tam Coc - Trang An area exceeding 80%. The success of this event once again affirms the attractiveness of a destination rich in cultural and historical values.

Although an annual event, Ninh Binh Tourism Week offers unique and special experiences for visitors each year. Ms. Do Thu Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said: "For those who have a connection to rice fields, childhood memories come flooding back when visiting and sightseeing here. I am impressed by the golden rice fields, winding at the foot of the mountains. The fields are as beautiful as a painting, truly deserving to be considered one of the most unique and beautiful rice fields in Vietnam."

The sunny, favorable weather and the vibrant golden rice fields were important factors contributing to the success of this year's Tourism Week. Many visitors could not hide their surprise and admiration for the natural wonders that Ninh Binh has been blessed with.

Adding to this natural landscape is a vast field spanning nearly 10,000 square meters, shaped into the folk painting "Carp Gazing at the Moon." This painting not only conveys wishes for national peace and prosperity, a year of favorable weather, and a bountiful harvest, but also demonstrates the responsibility of the people and the government in striving to preserve the cultural and natural values ​​of the heritage site for sustainable tourism development.

To Thanh Nam, a photographer from Hanoi, said: "I've had the opportunity to travel to many places and admire many beautiful landscapes, but every time I come to Tam Coc, I have indescribable emotions. Tam Coc during the rice harvest season is an endless source of inspiration for art enthusiasts. That's why this is my third time attending Ninh Binh Tourism Week."

Besides admiring the unique rice fields and immersing themselves in the characteristic atmosphere of the Northern Delta region, visitors can also enjoy the vibrant cultural colors from the activities of the local people and professional artists. It's easy to see that this year's Tourism Week is organized with many distinctive and attractive cultural and artistic activities.

Sharing about the successes after the event, Ms. Pham Thi Kim Oanh, President of the Hoa Lu District Women's Union, said: During the Tourism Week, the district's women's union members regularly performed cultural and artistic acts such as folk dances, sports dances, sword and dagger dances, unarmed combat, and traditional games. The vibrant atmosphere, diverse cultural colors, and the image of graceful and friendly women attracted a large number of tourists and local people to watch and cheer.

Despite the sunny weather during the performances and the fact that the members were mostly elderly women, everyone was enthusiastic, dedicated, and responsible. In particular, the performances were meticulously prepared and professionally presented, showcasing love for their homeland and the pride of the people of the ancient capital.

"Through this program, we hope to promote and introduce the unique, attractive, and outstanding values ​​of our tourism and cultural resources to visitors. From there, we call on everyone to join hands in preserving and promoting the value of the Heritage," shared Ms. Pham Thi Kim Oanh.

Organized since 2018, Ninh Binh Tourism Week has become an important annual event aimed at preserving, honoring, and promoting the natural and cultural values, and showcasing the image of Ninh Binh's land and people. With its flexible and creative organization, constantly refreshing its offerings, Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 demonstrated great appeal to domestic and international tourists, contributing to stimulating demand during the off-season, increasing revenue, and gradually building the brand of "the golden hues of Tam Coc - Trang An".

According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, during Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 (from May 27th to June 4th), the province welcomed 172,569 visitors, more than double the number from Tourism Week 2022 (85,000 visitors), including over 30,000 international visitors; and 72,275 visitors to the Tam Coc - Trang An area. Hotel occupancy rates reached 70-75%, and over 80% in the Tam Coc - Trang An area.

Despite the high number of visitors, thanks to the proactive coordination of the local authorities, the Tourism Management Board, and the awareness and responsibility of the people, the welcoming of visitors was ensured to be safe, leaving a good impression on tourists.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Phong, Executive Director of the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area Management Board, informed: "Following the success of the Tourism Week, we continue to cooperate with the local authorities and people to extend the rice growing season, take good care of the regenerated rice fields and the flower-lined river. At the same time, we are researching and introducing unique tourism products in 2024, gradually making the Tam Coc rice fields a recognizable brand of Ninh Binh tourism."

The success of this event will continue to provide important momentum for Ninh Binh to exceed its target of welcoming 5.35 million tourists in 2023, demonstrating the efforts of the Ninh Binh government and people in realizing the goal of making tourism a key economic sector.
