The Vietnam U17 team achieved a remarkable milestone by scoring 30 goals without conceding any. Coach Roland's players also demonstrated diverse scoring abilities, with 13 different players finding the net across all positions. Among them, Mạnh Cường was the top scorer with 5 goals.

Another noteworthy statistic: Dai Nhan, Van Duong, Minh Thuy, Manh Cuong, and Ngoc Son each scored 3 goals; Sy Bach, Nguyen Luc, and Dinh Vy each scored 2 goals; and Hoang Viet, Quy Vuong, Duy Khang, and Anh Hao each scored 1 goal. The decisive victory against U17 Malaysia was the biggest highlight, as we overcame our direct opponent to secure our qualification. Coach Roland said: “We deserve what we have achieved. We have shown that we are very strong. As I said from the beginning, our mindset is always one game at a time. We plan, show the players the path, and they execute it.”

"I am a very happy coach. My job is to teach and show them the way. And they have done it brilliantly. They are truly amazing. All my players deserve to be congratulated."

Coach Roland affirmed that the U17 Vietnam team's goal remains to maintain focus in each match: "I always prepare the players for every situation, and they trust and execute that. Today's result proves we are a very strong team. At this moment, the most important thing is that I am very happy and satisfied. The players did everything I asked and believed in what I taught them. I am grateful to the fans who came to the stadium."

Regarding his upcoming work plans, the coach of the Vietnam U17 team said: “I have met my requirements and completed my nhiệm vụ with the Vietnam U17 team. Tomorrow, I will return to work at Hanoi Club to prepare for the U19 team with 14 days before the National U19 Championship. I am happy, but tomorrow will be a new task.” Vietnamese youth football has once again left its mark and shown its potential for future development. Following the victory of the Vietnam U17 team against Malaysia U17, on behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, President Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated the Vietnam U17 team on their outstanding achievement of qualifying for the 2026 AFC U17 Championship Finals as group C winners with 4 wins out of 4 matches, and awarded the entire team a motivational bonus of 600 million VND.

This achievement reflects the thorough preparation over the past period, specifically, immediately after the 2025 U17 Asian Championship finals, the VFF continued to increase investment in training young athletes, aiming for future tournaments.

At this tournament, the Vietnam U17 team received much praise from fans for their beautiful coordinated play and the emergence of many promising players. The outstanding performance of coach Cristiano Roland's team is the most meaningful gift to the fans who have always persistently supported them, and is a solid foundation for bigger goals in the future, aiming for the 2034 World Cup.

The Vietnamese women's national team has finalized its roster for the 33rd SEA Games.

On the afternoon of December 1st, the Vietnamese women's national team announced its 23-player roster for the Southeast Asian Games. Three players were assigned to separate teams: Duong Thi Van, Ngan Thi Thanh Hieu, and Vu Thi Hoa. Duong Thi Van has not fully recovered from her injury, while Ngan Thi Thanh Hieu and Vu Thi Hoa need more time to gain experience.

The squad that coach Mai Duc Chung selected to go to Thailand includes many experienced players who accompanied him in the 2023 World Cup campaign, such as Tran Thi Kim Thanh, Hoang Thi Loan, Le Thi Diem My, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Pham Hai Yen, and captain Huynh Nhu.

In addition, coach Mai Duc Chung has gradually transitioned the team to a new generation, giving players born in 2000 or later more opportunities to play leading roles. These include Tran Thi Duyen, Tran Thi Hai Linh, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, Ngoc Minh Chuyen, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang.

In the last four editions of the Games, the Vietnamese women's team, under the guidance of coach Mai Duc Chung, has won the gold medal every time. The strategist, over 70 years old, also hopes to create another milestone in Southeast Asian history with the "Golden Star Warriors".

According to the plan, at 8:40 AM on December 2nd, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will travel to Bangkok, then continue on to Chonburi. This will be the venue for the women's football matches at the 33rd SEA Games. They are in the same group as Myanmar, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Two of the three opponents, Myanmar and the Philippines, promise to be formidable obstacles for Huynh Nhu and her teammates.

“We all know that other countries invest heavily in their teams, such as naturalizing many athletes, which creates difficulties for us because Vietnamese people are small and physically weak. But in return, we have a spirit, willpower, agility, and skill,” said Coach Mai Duc Chung. “The team has also been given many opportunities by the VFF leadership to compete and train abroad, gaining experience against stronger opponents. The recent training period in Japan, with several friendly matches, has helped the team improve its skills and confidently aim for the highest goal at the SEA Games.”
