Actively taking action for a green future
In the context of climate change, the world is entering a green transition, bringing many new economic opportunities to the young generation. By 2030, it is expected that green transition will bring 8,4 million jobs. New for young people. To master the future and contribute to the green economy, young people need to be equipped with green skills – tools and practical knowledge that help them take advantage of environmentally friendly technologies as well as make decisions. environmentally conscious in work and personal life.
Regarding this issue, Ms. Pauline Tamesis, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Vietnam emphasized, currently, we have not met the increasing demand for green skills. By 2030, 60% of young people may lack the skills needed to thrive in a green economy. “We must address this disparity and ensure that everyone has equal access to green skills,” said Pauline Tamesis.
According to United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative Ramla Khalidi, as Viet Nam works towards an equitable energy transition and a future of net zero emissions, implementing workforce to promote a green and low-carbon economy is crucial. Vietnamese youth need to be well prepared and equipped with green knowledge, skills and capacities to join this workforce; while seizing new opportunities to cultivate green jobs and skills of the future. It is not just about investing in the potential of young people, but also about committing to a sustainable world.

Spread the message of sustainable environmental protection
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has paid special attention to and widely deployed environmental protection activities and programs, with many new, creative and effective contents, attracting a large number of young people to participate. , forming a good trend in the youth and society. Through this, Vietnamese youth are propagated and disseminated knowledge and skills on environmental protection and climate change prevention and control, so that each young person considers environmental protection a beautiful act, a Consciousness constantly, continuously.

Every year, the Central Youth Union cooperates with other units to organize the launching ceremony of the tree planting festival "Eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho".
In addition, the Youth Union and Vietnam Youth Union at all levels actively mobilized union members and young people to participate in building new rural areas and civilized cities, focusing on environmental criteria. . Delegations at all levels registered to undertake and organize the implementation of effective models such as: Civilized street (road, alley), building flower street, youth flag street, model "Model residential area", " Flowering poles", "Youth flower garden", "Youth tree rows" in urban areas; establish and multiply volunteer squads specializing in the construction of modern, civilized and smart cities.
The activities have continued to affirm the role of the Youth Union in participating with local authorities in building a civilized and healthy lifestyle; raising awareness and green skills for young people as well as people in residential areas, thereby spreading the message of sustainable environmental protection.
In order for activities and movements to act for the environment more and more effective in the coming time, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong said that all levels of the Youth Union and each young person need to continue to promote propaganda. , raising awareness for young people about the law on environmental protection; harmful effects of plastic bags and plastic waste on the environment, including the marine and ocean environment.
