According to 9to5mac, Apple is issuing warnings to users about a new vulnerability being exploited to attack iPhones with mercenary spyware.
Users at risk of being targeted have received emails from Apple about the possibility of hackers "remotely accessing" their iPhones.
According to Reuters , Apple has issued a warning to users in India and 91 other countries.
In addition, Apple advises users to proactively protect their devices by updating to the latest software and enabling "Lockdown Mode"—a feature that disables certain functions on the iPhone that are vulnerable to attacks.
Lockdown mode is available for iPhone users who have updated to iOS 16.
To activate this mode, step 1: go to Settings, then Privacy and security, and then select Blocking mode.
Step two, tap the button to enable lockdown mode. The screen will then change interface, and the user selects to enable lockdown mode again.
The system will then restart the computer, and the user will have successfully completed the process.
According to 9to5mac , these types of malware attacks on iPhones are often very expensive, costing millions of dollars.

Previously, in 2021, Apple also repeatedly issued similar warnings when new vulnerabilities were discovered.
The targets of these attacks are often political activists, government officials, diplomats, and others.
In this case, the attacker installs malware to track user data and location.
In addition to patching the vulnerability, Apple is also taking legal action to work with the manufacturers of the spyware.
Israel's NSO Group is one of the most notorious manufacturers. In late 2021, Apple sued NSO Group for its role in attacks that tracked Apple users. The lawsuit is still ongoing.
