The workshop was attended by 100 delegates, including Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, foreign cultural centers in Vietnam, many researchers, cultural managers, artists, domestic and international experts, representatives of some localities, and media organizations.
In his opening speech, Comrade Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the workshop is of special importance. This is a forum for managers, researchers, and cultural experts at home and abroad to exchange, discuss, share experiences, and propose creative ideas and solutions to assess the current situation and identify opportunities and challenges in the process of international cultural integration of Vietnam today.
The workshop deepened awareness of the role and importance of culture in the process of international integration, enhancing national status and promoting sustainable development, especially in the context of Vietnam facing a historic moment, preparing to enter a new era, an era of national growth. In addition, strengthening international cooperation in the field of culture, learning from experiences from countries around the world, building practical cooperation programs and projects, especially experiences in the process of internationalizing domestic culture and internalizing the quintessence of international cultural values. The workshop also proposed specific orientations, strategies and solutions to effectively promote international integration in culture, strongly promoting the role of culture in the new era of Vietnam.
At the workshop, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Nguyen Phuong Hoa also reported on the Project "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture", emphasizing the requirements on the necessity, legal basis, theoretical basis for developing the Project, proposing viewpoints, goals, and tasks to be implemented in the process of internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture in the coming time. The report also proposed important groups of solutions for implementation, including groups of solutions on institutions, mechanisms, policies, human resource development, increased investment and resource mobilization, propaganda, raising awareness, innovating content, forms of activities, and expanding international cooperation.
At the workshop, delegates participated in two discussion sessions: “International experiences and suggested solutions for Vietnam” and “Comments, proposals for tasks and solutions”. In addition to sharing experiences in the process of enhancing integration, international cooperation in culture in general, internationalizing domestic culture, and internalizing international cultural values, delegates also recommended and proposed many solutions to complete the Project and implement the Project “Internationalizing Vietnamese culture and Vietnamizing international culture”.
Notably, many opinions suggested that it is necessary to perfect the policy on public-private cooperation, build a specific mechanism for high-end cultural works and products, apply science and technology, engineering, especially Artificial Intelligence - AI, and promote the role of cultural industries. Some delegates suggested that the Project focus on telling the story of Vietnam, thereby using culture as an effective tool to promote and introduce unique and attractive stories about the country and people of Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the country's "soft power", bringing Vietnam to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam.
