Cooperation for mutual development
To develop sustainable tourism, Vinh Long, along with other provinces and cities nationwide, has coordinated and signed cooperation agreements to promote tourism, aiming to link regional tourism development in accordance with the industry's overall plan.
This includes focusing on cooperation and exchanging experiences in the management and operation of tourism promotion information centers. Simultaneously, it involves cooperating in developing and exploiting unique tourism products of each locality, tours, routes, and linking tourists to provinces in the region to avoid product duplication.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the period 2020-2025, the province will continue to connect with other provinces and cities to complete and develop tourism routes: "Picturesque Landscapes" ( Ho Chi Minh City - Tien Giang - Ben Tre - Tra Vinh - Soc Trang - Can Tho - Bac Lieu - Ca Mau) and some routes linking 6 provinces: Long An - Tien Giang - Ben Tre - Vinh Long - Tra Vinh - Dong Thap...
Gradually develop and expand waterway tourism routes and products (through the provinces of Vinh Long, Tien Giang, An Giang, etc.) associated with boat tours on the Mekong River.

The key areas of linkage identified include: cultural-heritage linkage, nature-experiential linkage, culinary-shopping linkage, and craft village-river tourism linkage.
“The actions of the tourism sectors of Hanoi and Vinh Long affirm their determination to make a positive contribution to the overall achievements of the national tourism industry. This collaboration continues the spirit of cooperation between Hanoi tourism and the provinces and cities of the Southwestern region, marking an important starting point in the series of activities linking and cooperating to develop tourism between the two regions.”
"Through this program, the parties will jointly promote domestic tourism through promotional activities, dissemination of information, and introduction of unique tourism products of each locality, aiming to expand the tourist market, strengthen exchange, and achieve sustainable development," Mr. Tran Trung Hieu emphasized.
Expanding regional linkages
On November 19, 2025, in Dong Nai province, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement on tourism development with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Dong Nai provinces and Can Tho city, for the period 2025-2030.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, said that this is an important event, marking a new step in regional cooperation between the province of the Southeast region and some provinces of the Southwest region.
This collaboration is an inevitable trend and yields practical results in the context of Vietnam's rapidly recovering tourism industry. It demonstrates a high level of political determination to concretize the central government's policy on linking tourism development.
According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, participating in the linkage requires each locality to highlight its own tourism products and destinations, contributing to and creating additional value chains in the linkage, tours/routes in order to exploit and meet the needs of tourists to the fullest extent.
Tourism cooperation helps create a highly attractive tourism environment for visitors from within and outside the province; it helps to develop the potential and strengths of localities in forming inter-provincial and inter-regional tourism products.
Furthermore, it is essential to promote investment, develop human resources, preserve and promote cultural and historical values and resources, improve the effectiveness of state management in tourism, and boost domestic tourism development, thereby supporting the strong growth of the tourism industry.
Mr. Vo Hoang Diep, Director of Bao Duyen Travel (An Hoi Ward, Vinh Long Province), shared: “When Long Thanh Airport becomes operational, it will welcome a large number of passengers, and transportation will be convenient, connecting with the provinces of the Mekong Delta.”
We hope that tourism associations will strengthen the organization of famtrips to promote and introduce the highlights of regional tourism. Our businesses will always be there to cooperate and create tourism products, showcasing the unique features of local tourism to visitors from near and far.”
Mr. Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, said that the signing program between the four provinces and cities is very meaningful in the new context. This is an opportunity for the provinces to strengthen connections, support, and coordinate with each other in tourism development in a spirit of voluntariness, cooperation, and mutual benefit, helping tourism become an important economic sector and promoting economic development.
Furthermore, it is necessary to strengthen promotion, networking, and mutual support among tourism associations, tourism businesses, travel companies, and destinations. Digital technology should be applied to tourism development; new products should be developed through collaboration to better serve tourists; and state management of the tourism sector should be enhanced.
“Following the signing ceremony, we hope that all specialized units and tourism associations will concretize these agreements through specific action programs and plans, develop tour routes, and refine products to facilitate the transportation of tourists between provinces. We also hope to strengthen coordination with neighboring provinces to better serve tourists and promote tourism development in the future,” Mr. Lam Huu Phuc shared.
