Therefore, pre-Tet holiday activities are an effective way of traditional education , contributing to building a friendly and close-knit environment for teachers, students, and friends through beneficial and healthy activities to welcome the spring.

Extracurricular activities

Organizing extracurricular activities or competitions about Tet customs is a necessary and beneficial activity.

Through these activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of the tradition of remembering their ancestors during Tet (Lunar New Year). In addition, students will better understand that the meaning of giving lucky money during Tet is to bring joy and good fortune, and the monetary value inside should not be the most important factor.

The beautiful gestures of children and grandchildren bowing to wish their grandparents and parents a happy new year and receiving lucky money envelopes on New Year's Day... are things that will help younger generations understand more about the Lunar New Year, see the true beauty of the holiday and the joy of gathering with family, instead of just being engrossed in phones and computers during these days.

Instructing students on how to wrap banh chung, banh tet...

In addition, the school can organize activities such as guiding students in wrapping banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), holding competitions in making jam, calligraphy, and decorating for Tet (Vietnamese New Year). These activities help students feel enthusiastic about going to school in the days leading up to Tet, learn new knowledge and skills, become more conscious of helping their families celebrate Tet, and strengthen friendships through fun and meaningful group activities.

The stories of sticky rice cakes and New Year's poles, when recounted, will serve as lessons that nurture students' souls about tradition and national identity.

Volunteer activities

Additionally, in the period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), give children the opportunity to help friends in need, both inside and outside of school.

The school could organize fundraising activities, cultural programs, or sell handmade products to give Tet gifts to less fortunate students. These are also important and necessary lessons to educate students about love, sharing, and compassion.

It can be said that the period before students' Tet holiday break, if utilized effectively, can become a wonderful opportunity for education. If students have already gone through a stressful exam period, this is when their minds are most open to receiving the good things that Tet brings.
