Although the "Night in Remembrance of Trinh Cong Son" program didn't start until 8 PM, a large crowd of locals and tourists had already gathered at the stage in the An Hoi Sculpture Garden area since 7 PM.

The excitement stems not only from the presence of renowned singer Ánh Tuyết – a native of Hội An – and other singers such as Quỳnh Lan, Mỹ Dung, Phương Vy, and Phi Thúy Hạnh, but also from the love that audiences and tourists have for Trịnh's music.

In the cool late spring weather, by the banks of the Hoai River, Trinh Cong Son's songs resonate even more enchantingly and poignantly. "I Lull You to Sleep," "Calling the Four Seasons," "Let's Love Each Other," "The Vastness of Life," "Walking Alone Through the Streets in the Evening"... make the atmosphere suddenly feel light and serene, drifting peacefully amidst the shimmering ancient streets.

Interspersed throughout the program were captivating and enchanting piano and saxophone renditions of Trinh Cong Son's music. The prolonged applause after each performance by the artists and singers served as a testament to the program's quality.

The appeal was further enhanced by MC Chien Thang's hosting style. With his warm, sweet voice, he recounted the musical journey of Trinh Cong Son, in which each song seemed to be connected to a figure, a love affair, and memories of the talented musician.

Singer Ánh Tuyết shared that her initial idea was simply to create a small musical corner on the banks of the Hoài River to commemorate Trịnh Công Sơn, but thanks to the support and encouragement of artists and colleagues, the concert has become a space of nostalgia, where audiences and tourists can immerse themselves in timeless songs.

"Today, although I'm very tired and my voice is hoarse due to health issues, and I didn't even think I could sing, I tried my best to make 'A Night Remembering Trinh Cong Son' a complete success," said renowned singer Anh Tuyet.

Much to the delight of the audience, singer Ánh Tuyết performed two songs consecutively, "Footprints in Paradise" and "I Beg to Repay My Debt," showcasing her soaring, skillful voice and evoking deep emotions in the viewers. A considerable number of foreign tourists also stopped to sway along to the melodies.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, Director of the Hoi An City Cultural, Sports and Information Center, hopes that the program will offer another perspective on Hoi An as a land of art, poetry, music and painting; a meeting point for artists, where creative flows never cease to generate new values.

In particular, through this program, the city wants to send a message to tourists from near and far that the land and people of Hoi An always cherish the talents that have contributed to enriching the music of their homeland, Vietnam, and Trinh Cong Son is one of the admired figures.

Composer Trịnh Công Sơn passed away on April 1, 2001. He was one of the icons of Vietnamese music with many timeless songs. His compositions are remembered and loved by generations, such as "Cát bụi" (Dust), "Hạ trắng" (White Summer), "Một cõi đi về" (A Realm to Return To), and "Diễm xưa" (Ancient Beauty).
