>>> Readers are invited to watch the video : Regiment 917 flies and drops relief supplies in Tuy Hoa
From November 20th, the 917th Regiment, 370th Division, Air Defense - Air Force Command, received orders from above and urgently mobilized helicopter forces to participate in rescue and relief efforts, as well as transporting and dropping relief supplies to flood-affected people in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
After successfully completing the transfer flight from Can Tho Airport to Cam Ranh Airport, the unit immediately conducted a topographical survey flight in the Nha Trang city area and Dien Khanh commune, Khanh Hoa province, that same afternoon.

On November 22nd, at exactly 2:20 PM, when weather and meteorological conditions permitted, following orders from above, the crews of rescue helicopters Mi-171 (number 8431) and Mi-171 (number 02) took off, carrying heartfelt messages in carefully wrapped packages to deliver to the affected people.
During the flight from Cam Ranh airport to the relief point, the weather conditions were complex, with light rain. The pilots calmly controlled the helicopter, flying at a speed of 140 km/h and an altitude of 200 m.
When the two helicopters approached Hoa Xuan commune, the area was covered in vast stretches of water, with many houses already submerged up to their roofs. Because the commune is located near the mouth of the Da Nong River, bordering the sea, it had been isolated for several days.
As they ventured further inland, the flight crew observed that Phuoc Giang village in Hoa Xuan commune still had many households with isolated houses precariously perched amidst the vast expanse of water. The pilots of helicopter 8431 decided to select a location, descend, and maintain a stable hovering position of 20-25 meters…

Following the captain's orders, the mechanics quickly dropped packages of essential supplies, medicine, and food, carefully wrapped in multiple layers of plastic and burlap sacks. Helicopter number 02, after observing and finding a suitable landing spot, skillfully maneuvered the aircraft to land, delivering the supplies directly to the people.
Very quickly, the 4 tons of goods on the two helicopters were delivered to the people in full and with absolute safety ensured.
Upon landing at Cam Ranh airport, Colonel Ngo Hong Son, Deputy Commander of the 917th Military Training Regiment, emotionally stated: “I am a son of Nghe An province, and my homeland has also continuously suffered damage from natural disasters, storms, and floods… Therefore, I understand the calamities and losses that our people have been enduring in recent days. The moment we flew into the raging flood zone, witnessing so many people isolated, cut off, suffering from hunger and cold, with their lives seriously threatened, the flight crew and I are determined to do our best, together with the authorities at all levels, to contribute our small efforts and dedication to resolving and overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster for the people.”

The 910th and 920th Regiments (Air Force Officer Training School), units stationed and performing duties in Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak province, have, in recent days, not only been on duty and carrying out their central political tasks, but the leaders, commanders, officers, soldiers, and staff of the two regiments have worked tirelessly day and night, standing side by side to help and rescue people in flood-affected areas.
Over the past few days, Regiments 940 and 910 have deployed numerous vehicles to transport the wounded and sick across deeply flooded roads to ensure timely emergency care at hospitals. The two units also received tens of tons of essential goods, medicines, life jackets and lifebuoys, along with thousands of meals from agencies, units, and philanthropists. Undeterred by danger, they quickly navigated through deep floodwaters and strong currents, delivering aid directly to flood victims, where many families have run out of food and suffered from hunger for days in Lac Chi village, Xuan My village, Hoa My commune, and Phu Hoa 2 commune… in Dak Lak province.
In the coming days, officers and soldiers of the Air Defense - Air Force Command will continue to do a good job of preparing in all aspects, always ready to carry out the mission when ordered, ensuring the fastest and most effective relief for people in flood-affected areas.
