Antique market is held on Saturday.
The “market” is located at the end of a small road, under the Nguyen Trung Truc bridge (Swing bridge), in Long Xuyen ward. Two days a week, regularly on Wednesday and Saturday, members come here to “hold the market”, maintaining for more than 2 years to become a quite vibrant meeting place for antique collectors from all over.
Early in the morning, about 100 people gathered here, both sides of the street displayed booths of all kinds of antiques, rich in design, color and origin... creating an impressive scene. Mr. Han said, due to bad weather, the number of people was still modest, normally the number of people coming to visit, exchange and interact would be three times more.

A variety of antiques are brought to display for exchange.
In addition to members in An Giang province, the "market" also welcomes antique collectors from provinces across the Western region, Ho Chi Minh City, and even some provinces further north.
Since the afternoon of the previous day, many collectors had been present at Long Xuyen ward to prepare their memorabilia. At more than 4 am, they began to display their wares, and exchanges and meetings took place. They shared a passion for artifacts bearing traditional beauty through fine art works, mainly ceramics and bronze.
No expertise required, anyone can go to the “market” to find quality antiques.
“Here we mainly bring in mid-value souvenirs. The main thing is that collectors meet each other to get to know each other after interacting on social networks and choosing items of higher value. Many people have been involved in this field for decades. Putting aside economic issues, the passion for antiques and antiquities is huge because of their meaning and cultural value that lasts over time. Some people are even willing to give away precious artifacts that they have painstakingly searched for to the Provincial Museum,” said Nguyen Hoang Mai, a veteran member of the Thoai Son antiques group.
Mr. Nguyen Vinh Long from Ho Chi Minh City came to the "market" to look for unique and strange items.
Enjoying his retirement, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Long, from Ho Chi Minh City, chose to entertain himself by wandering around the antique and vintage "markets" that take place in different provinces and cities. Mr. Long said he really likes the activity spot in Long Xuyen ward ( An Giang province), because every trip he always finds a few special, unique items with good prices.
Besides economic matters, people who love to collect antiques and antiques come here as a playground to improve their understanding of culture.
For antique collectors in general, these markets are not only an environment for exchange for economic purposes, but also a healthy playground to relax the mind, creating opportunities to better understand the relics, and expanding the cultural knowledge of each individual in this field.
