Lunar New Year is a time for family reunions. Therefore, during the first days of the new year, many families choose to take commemorative photos as a way to preserve meaningful moments together. At Lux Studio (Thanh Sen ward), the number of customers coming for photoshoots and bookings has increased significantly compared to normal days. From 8 am onwards, the fitting rooms, makeup areas, and photoshoot sets were all fully booked, with the number of customers increasing two to three times compared to a typical day.
To meet demand, Lux Studio remained open throughout the Lunar New Year holiday, hiring additional staff for makeup, photo editing, and printing.
The work atmosphere was constant, with machinery and equipment operating at full capacity. Despite the increased pressure, everyone's morale remained high.
Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Huyen, manager at Lux Studio (Thanh Sen Ward), said: “During Tet (Lunar New Year), customers mainly take family photos and beauty shoots. On average, the studio schedules shoots for 10-15 families and individuals each day. Even during Tet, the studio has sufficient staff to serve the increased demand from customers.” Lux Studio isn't the only one experiencing a surge in customers; Khac Dong Studio (Thanh Sen ward) has also seen a significant increase. Most clients have to book appointments well in advance to secure their spots.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (Ha Huy Tap ward) shared: “My family has 7 members. During the year, most of us work far away, so we only get together fully during Tet (Lunar New Year). Therefore, my family took advantage of the opportunity to have family photos taken to preserve the memories. To have photos taken at Khac Dong Studio today, my family had to book an appointment in advance.”
Besides family photos, many young people choose modern, minimalist concepts or Korean-style photos. These photo sets, with their youthful and energetic vibe, quickly gain popularity on social media. According to businesses, revenue increased significantly in the first few days of the year. Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh Ly, manager at Khac Dong Studio (Thanh Sen Ward), added: “Even before Tet, we had already booked up all the days of the Lunar New Year, so the studio continued working throughout the holiday. The price for family and individual photoshoots during Tet also remained stable, ranging from 1-2 million VND per set of photos.”
The bustling photography activity right from the beginning of spring is a positive sign for the service industry in 2026.
