The 15th day of the seventh lunar month is an occasion for people to express their deep gratitude to their ancestors, grandparents, and parents, demonstrating the Vietnamese principle of "drinking water, remembering the source."

Anticipating the demand for ordering trays of offerings and other ceremonial items for the full moon festival, many fan pages and Facebook account owners have already started "offering" their services in a variety of attractive formats.

Online marketplaces are bustling with activity during the Mid-Autumn Festival (the 15th day of the 7th lunar month).

Ms. Ta Thi Hanh (an office worker in Thanh Sen ward) shared: “Because I'm busy, I order food online so I can prepare thoroughly for my family's important holiday. I find that these services are very diverse and offer many attractive options. Besides ready-made dishes, I can also buy pre-prepared ingredient sets, and when I get home, I only need a few simple steps to easily complete a proper offering tray.”

For about a week now, the staff at Hong Thanh Kitchen (Cao Thang Street, Thanh Sen Ward) have been busy preparing orders for the Mid-Autumn Festival offerings in the seventh lunar month. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thanh, the owner, shared: “Compared to previous years, this year people have a greater and earlier demand for Mid-Autumn Festival offerings. We started receiving orders about a month ago, with the peak period from the 9th to the 15th of the seventh lunar month. Besides traditional sets like sticky rice with chicken and fruit platters, many customers also have specific requests for platters of various desserts, vegetarian fish sauce platters, and offerings for wandering spirits… Depending on the needs, we will adjust the prices accordingly, while still ensuring that the offerings are complete and presentable.”

“Currently, on average, my kitchen can handle up to 200 regular offering trays per day; for more elaborate trays, we can handle 10-15 trays per day. To meet the high demand in the days leading up to the holidays, the shop has mobilized its staff to work continuously, and at the same time, has made arrangements to select ingredients that ensure quality and food safety,” shared Ms. Hong Thanh.

Beautifully presented offerings have become a popular item.

On social media platforms like Facebook and Zalo, it's easy for people to find posts advertising a variety of attractive offerings for the Mid-Autumn Festival (the seventh lunar month). Besides traditional offerings like five fruits, sticky rice with chicken, and banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), customers can choose from many other novel and eye-catching items such as: banh xu xe and banh com (rice cakes) for 79,000 VND/10 pieces; mochi with rice flakes for 65,000 VND/box; lotus flower steamed buns for 89,000 VND/5 pieces; peach and peony steamed buns for 75,000 VND/5 pieces…

Ms. Phan Thi Dung – Director of OCOP – CED Central Center (2 Vu Quang Street, Thanh Sen Ward) said: “For about a week now, my facility has mobilized 8-10 staff members to busy themselves preparing hundreds of online orders for the Mid-Autumn Festival. To meet the needs of the people, in addition to preparing high-quality and diverse goods, we also adjust the offerings and ceremonial items according to the size, shape, and financial capabilities of our customers. New products are continuously updated on our fanpage and Zalo community group so that customers can connect and shop in the most convenient way.”

Besides businesses, many individuals are also taking advantage of online sales during the Mid-Autumn Festival to earn extra income. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga (Binh Quang village, Cam Binh commune) shared: "I often make various kinds of cakes and sweet soups for the Mid-Autumn Festival and people praise them for being delicious and suiting their taste. This year, I decided to prepare ready-made ingredient sets and post them on my personal Facebook page to sell. With simple and attractive preparation methods, I have already received more than 40 orders, and I expect to see more in the next few days. On average, I sell each set of 30 pieces for 80,000 - 85,000 VND. After purchasing, customers only need to boil water, add the cakes, and let them sit for about 10 minutes to enjoy."

According to many business owners, with the volume of online orders many times higher than usual, individuals and businesses have mobilized manpower and worked overtime to fulfill customer orders on time. In addition, most ingredients are meticulously prepared, selected, and processed, contributing to the neatness and reverence shown by the family when arranging items on the altar. Orders are expected to continue to increase on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the seventh lunar month.
