According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of July 21st, 11 majors in the health sector must have a minimum admission score of 19-22.5.
The majors with the highest minimum admission score are Medicine and Dentistry, with 22.5 points. This is 0.5 points higher than the minimum score of the past two years, including the total score of the three subjects in the high school graduation exam according to the admission combination, plus priority points, and without applying any weighting factor.
The Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy majors have slightly lower minimum admission scores, at 21. Other majors in the health sector have a minimum quality assurance threshold of 19 points, including Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, and Rehabilitation Technology. These levels remain the same as in the past two years.
Universities that offer health-related programs are not allowed to set minimum admission scores lower than the levels mentioned above.

The Ministry of Education and Training has been setting a common minimum score for health-related fields that require professional certification for the past five years in order to improve the quality of student intake.
Since this regulation came into effect, the admission scores for medical and pharmaceutical schools have narrowed. In particular, the cut-off scores for health-related training programs at private universities have increased significantly compared to the previous period.
For example, at Hanoi University of Business and Technology, the cutoff score for the Medical program in 2018, before the Ministry's general regulations were in place, was 18. In 2019, when the Ministry first introduced a common minimum score for health-related fields, the university raised its cutoff score to 21.
For top universities like Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the minimum admission threshold for some majors like Medicine or Dentistry doesn't mean much because the actual admission scores are always much higher. For example, last year Hanoi Medical University took 28.15 points for Medicine, 6.15 points higher than the threshold.
Based on the minimum admission scores announced by universities, last year's cutoff scores, and some predictions for this year, candidates can continue to register, adjust, and add their preferences until 5 PM on July 30th.
Universities will announce their admission scores before 5 PM on August 22nd.
