The project to build the Vietnam Military History Museum worth VND 2.500 billion located next to Thang Long Avenue (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) is urgently being completed in time to open to welcome guests in 2024.
The investment project to build the Vietnam Military History Museum is a special project, invested by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army with an amount of 2.500 billion VND. The project is currently being built in a location close to Thang Long Avenue (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi).
As noted by the reporter People intellectual, the main items of phase 1 project have basically been completed, workers are urgently constructing the interior and exterior landscape, many artifacts such as fighter aircraft, military transport aircraft military, tanks... have been transported to the display location.
The total project area is 38,66 hectares, designed with 4 aboveground floors and one semi-underground floor.
The museum is designed in a modern, simple style and creates an intuitive historical flow, in harmony with architectural lighting and natural light; Using a multimedia equipment system combined with a directional sound system so that visitors can interact, bringing a new experience.
The museum has 4 floors and 1 ground floor, construction area is 23.198m2. The total floor area of the main building is 64.640m2, total height is 35,8m.
Outside the main building there will be military reconstruction works, displaying large weapons.
The completed project includes an indoor and outdoor display system with 6 historical themes, 8 thematic topics, 7 collections and 12 military specialties of the Vietnam People's Army.
The C-130 aircraft, nicknamed "workhorse", is the largest artifact displayed in the space outside the museum.
This is the first generation of C-130 aircraft, using a three-blade Allison T56 turbofan engine, weighing more than 34 tons, wingspan of more than 40m, body length of more than 30m, height of nearly 12m, including 4 engines. , can load 19 tons of cargo or 64 paratroopers, maximum take-off weight is more than 70 tons.
The M107 self-propelled gun, known as the "King of the battlefield", was used by the US during the war in Vietnam. The gun barrel is more than 11 meters long, weighs more than 28 tons, the firing rate is only 1 round per minute, but the longest range is up to 40km. The M107 uses two types of bullets: the M2 high explosive bullet weighing 437kg with a damage radius of more than 66,6 meters and a 50 kiloton nuclear bullet.
MiG-21 fighter number 4324, once flown by 9 Vietnamese pilots and shot down 14 US aircraft, has now been placed in the main hall of the museum for display.
The MiG-21, known as the "silver swallow" with number 4324, was produced by the Soviet Union and provided aid to Vietnam in 1967. In early 1967, this fighter was equipped with the 921st Air Force Regiment, Air Force Division. Army 371, PK-KQ Army. During the resistance war against America to save the country, "silver swallow" 4324 launched 69 sorties, encountered the enemy 22 times, and fired 16 times.
On March 10, 3, the Vietnam Military History Museum held a ceremony to announce Decision No. 2015 dated January 53, 14 of the Prime Minister, recognizing MiG-1 aircraft number 2015 as a National Treasure. .
The MiG-21 bearing number 5121 was recognized by the State as a National Treasure in 2012. Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Tuan once piloted this MiG-21 and shot down a B52 plane in the night of December 27, 12. In addition to Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, there were also pilots Dinh Ton and Vu Dinh Rang controlling this plane.
T-54B tank number 843 is also one of the National Treasures displayed inside the new Vietnam Military History Museum. This tank was transported from the South to Hanoi for display on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 12), then was retained and transferred to the museum.
The 105mm howitzer is one of the opening guns in the Dien Bien Phu campaign (1) on display at the Vietnam Military History Museum.
During the Dien Bien Phu campaign, the Vietnam People's Army was equipped with 24 105mm howitzers, of which 4 were trophies captured by the French Expeditionary Force from the Border campaign (1950) and the Western campaign. Bac (1952), 20 guns were donated by China.
Currently, workers are rushing to complete the phase 1 project as planned, promptly putting the museum into operation and serving the public at home and abroad in the near future.
