Tourists stroll along the newly constructed route around Thuy Tien Lake.

After the Thuy Tien Lake Water Park (Thuy Bang Ward) was renovated, along with the investment in transportation infrastructure in the Thien An Hill, Vong Canh, and Huyen Tran Cong Chua areas, by early 2025, tourists and residents visiting these areas will experience a new and refreshing landscape.

After the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake, Thuy Tien Lake Water Park remains bustling and vibrant with many groups of visitors coming to explore, take photos, and stroll around. Unlike its previous eerie, desolate appearance with its dilapidated infrastructure, Thuy Tien Lake Water Park in particular, and the Thien An Hill area in general, are gradually transforming with a long, stone-paved walking path encircling the lake, offering visitors plenty of space to relax. At the giant dragon statue area, broken glass and weeds have been cleaned up, ensuring a pleasant visitor experience.

“This is the second time my family has visited Hue, and we were truly surprised to see how attractive Thien An Hill has become, with walking paths encircling the lake. The Thuy Tien Lake area is also cleaner now. Currently, some areas are still being renovated, so hopefully, on our next visit to Hue, this area will become an ideal destination for recreation and picnics,” shared Ms. Minh Ha, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

To transform the appearance of Thuy Tien Lake to attract tourists, in August 2024, the People's Committee of Hue City (formerly) launched the first phase of a project to build walking paths with a total investment of approximately 20 billion VND. To date, the entire 2km long walking paths in the park have been paved with non-slip stone; a lighting system for nighttime strolls has been installed, along with a drainage and water supply system. Currently, the project is over 80% complete. The People's Committee of Thuan Hoa District is continuing with phase 2, which includes items around the stone dragon statue, restrooms, a water fountain system, and connecting transportation infrastructure around the lake. Simultaneously, they are researching options to open beverage stalls, electric vehicle services, bicycle rentals, etc., at Thuy Tien Lake, transforming this location into a new tourist attraction and experience in Hue.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bach, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Acting Chairman of the Thuan Hoa District People's Committee, in 2025, along with implementing key projects as planned, the district will continue to implement urban beautification, upgrading, and connectivity projects, creating changes in the urban landscape such as the road along the Perfume River (south side) from Da Vien Bridge to Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street; beautifying the Perfume River bank combined with a boat dock along Bui Thi Xuan Park; beautifying the Da Vien islet area, Thien An hill, Ru Cha - Con Te area, Hai Duong beach… in order to gradually complete infrastructure to attract tourists. Along with that, priority will be given to developing distinctive tourism products, including: marine ecotourism, Ru Cha - Con Te lagoon tourism, building a community-based marine tourism model in Hai Duong; developing experiential tourism, ecotourism, spiritual tourism, and culinary tourism.
