For almost everyone who has worked in Che Tao commune, the difficulties of Ke Ca are unforgettable. The journey from the commune center to the village was arduous. The narrow dirt road became muddy and slippery during the rainy season, making the transportation of agricultural products or necessities extremely difficult. There was no phone signal, no electricity grid, and the villagers' lives mainly depended on oil lamps or small-capacity hydroelectric generators.

In recent years, thanks to the State's investment and attention, the rural landscape in Ke Ca has undergone significant changes. The focus of these changes begins with investment in essential infrastructure, which is a crucial factor in promoting socio -economic development in the highlands.

A road winding through the mountain slopes, though not wide, has been paved with concrete, shortening travel time. The 20-kilometer journey from the village to the commune now takes only about two hours, compared to the half-day walk previously required. In the center of the village, a 3-meter-wide concrete road has replaced the narrow dirt path, making the transportation of goods and agricultural products much easier for the villagers. Most notably, the national power grid has been invested in and put into operation just in time for the Lunar New Year, bringing great joy to the people here.

Mr. Sung Say Lu shared: "Before, without electricity, we only used oil lamps at night, which was very inconvenient. This year, with the national power grid, the people are extremely happy. With electricity, children can study more easily, and families can use more appliances for daily life."

Besides improving living conditions, having access to the power grid has also provided a significant impetus for the economic development of the people in Ke Ca village. In recent years, the village's economic landscape has clearly improved. From a situation of hardship, with 55 households and a poverty rate of over 80% before 2023, this number has now decreased to approximately 40%.

This positive transformation stems from the villagers' bold change in production mindset, effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality. Currently, the village has established 10 cattle farming models with more than 10 cows each, providing a stable source of income for many households.
In addition, the policy of paying for forest environmental services has become an important source of income, with each household receiving an average of about 25 million VND per year, contributing to both increased income and enhanced awareness of forest protection. Many households have also developed cardamom cultivation under the forest canopy, earning between 10 and 20 million VND annually.

Thanks to a diverse range of livelihoods, the average income of villagers in the hamlet currently reaches approximately 40 million VND per person per year. These positive figures demonstrate a suitable direction in economic development, gradually helping Ke Ca hamlet to progress and ensuring increasingly stable lives for its residents.
Mr. Sung A Say, head of Ke Ca village, said: "In previous years, when assessing poor households, almost everyone was poor. But now, thanks to infrastructure investment, people's lives have changed significantly. This is the motivation for people to strive to improve their lives, and many households have escaped poverty."

According to Mr. Hang A Ky, Secretary of the Party Committee of Che Tao commune, investing in infrastructure in remote villages like Ke Ca is an important policy aimed at improving people's lives. When transportation, electricity, and other essential conditions are ensured, people have the opportunity to develop their economy, access information, and gradually improve their quality of life.

Mr. Hang A Ky, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, emphasized: The achievements in Ke Ca are clear evidence of the effectiveness of investment programs in mountainous areas. From a village once considered a "remote area," Ke Ca is gradually changing its appearance, and the lives of its people are improving step by step.

In reality, when infrastructure is improved, the changes are not limited to roads or electricity lines, but also spread to the economic and spiritual lives of the people. Houses become more spacious, production gradually stabilizes, and confidence in the future grows stronger.

Today, along the concrete road leading into the village, the atmosphere is different from before. Electric lights illuminate every house, and the sounds of laughter and conversation are more vibrant. These changes are contributing to the new rural landscape of Ke Ca, a place once considered remote and isolated.
